In a Split Second

mom blog
Yesterday proved to be an adventure of sorts. Alex has shown how he can scheme and carryout a plan to accomplish a series of things he's been told not to do.
It was a mild day together. (That should have been my first tip-off that he was up to something). Alex was playing well in the living room with his toys so I decided to go back into my bathroom to go through my "make me human" routine. I do this often since my living room is baby-proof and safe.

And I'll never do it again.

Alex decided to walk down to his bedroom to play in there. Again, this is a safe place for him so I turned on the monitor to listen in and didn't think twice about it.

There was a quiet moment. (Another red flag that I missed). Following this, Alex decided to walk down to my bedroom for a visit. When I looked at him, I didn't quite know what to do or think. His mouth was blue. Even his teeth were blue. Alex carried the chewed up crayon remains in his hand.

Buddy! What did you do?
(Big fat toddler smile)
Give that to Mommy please.
Alex dashed passed me, lifted the toilet lid, threw in his crayon remains and said,
Oh! All gone.
To which I replied, It's not all gone honey. Now Mom has to fish it out of there. Let's wipe you up and I'll clean this.

I snapped a quick pic, wiped his mouth (inside and out) and sent him back to his room to play.

What a busy boy I have.

This is only a 14 month old, people. I'm in trouble. I'm in real trouble.
:)
