Take Two

I'm positive that this is not how Mike's first interview went down.

For the past 4 months, my husband has been looking for a job that would allow him to utilize his brand new degree.
We live in Michigan...the state everyone seems to be moving away from. There are less and less job opportunities everyday along with more and more home foreclosures.
We're fortunate enough that he currently holds a steady position that allows me to stay home with our one year old. Still, Mike wants to do more than what he is right now. Thus, the degree.

Last Wednesday, Mike went on an interview for a property tax analysts position. This is something that really captured his interest. There are many different responsibilities that come with this one title; one of these being travel. About 4 weeks out of the year, Mike would be gone to CA or IN or some other state.
His current position places him in a cubicle and requires that he pretty well stay put. I can only imagine how exciting traveling for a job must sound.

When he arrived home yesterday from work, Mike informed me that he had been called to set up a second interview. This is starting to look really promising and he's so excited he can't help but sport a perma-grin.

I'm excited for him. I'm hoping that this new job...if he is able to obtain it...will afford us the ability to buy a home in the near future. Owning a condo is great. It's just small. A house would give us more room to have another child...and get the dog I want. :) There's always a little something for me involved.

Wish us luck!

  1. it seems so hard to find and keep jobs nowadays. my husband's job may be on the chopping block - we're just waiting to see. he's been looking but hasn't found anything comparable. i hope your husband gets this job, if it's still desirable for the both of you.

  2. Goodness, I don't know what a property tax analysts position does. It's sounds like an important position though, and we all know whet that means $$$! If not at least it would make you sound cool! "Yes, I'm married to a property tax analyst!" Did you hear all the ewws & awws?
