C.I.G. Giveaway!!

I was recently asked if I would be willing to read and review a book on my blog.
Well, to be honest, I’m not a big “reader” and I didn’t think that I would enjoy reading for anyone…that was until I saw what I was being asked to read.

The Complete Idiot’s Guide to

Stop right there. I’m not a complete idiot but now I know this book will speak my lingo. Great!

Where were we?

Oh, yes. The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Backyard Adventures is the book I just finished up reading…and just in time too. (We seem to be running short on our supply of “decent weather weekends” for the year.)

This book has 30+ ideas on how to get out with your kiddos without spending a heap of money. The ideas draw you together as a family as you plan and execute your “adventures” together.

I would say that this book is written more for the families with school-age children but I know I’m holding on to my copy and keeping it on standby for next summer. (Alex is still a little too young for some of these ideas.)

Here’s an excerpt from the book’s description of…well…itself.

You’re no idiot, of course. A glance at your bank balance tells you that fancy vacations aren’t in your family’s budget-so finding affordable, close-to-home fun for your crew is at the top of your “must-do” list…

The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Backyard Adventures is full of ideas to help you turn your hometown into your family’s favorite vacation spot.

Not only is this book packed with ideas, it also has an index of resources that will help turn each adventure into a learning experience and really make it memorable.

Would you like to get your hands on this book? No problem!

Simply leave a comment for your entry before Wednesday, September 10th at 8:00 pm.

If you post about this contest on your blog, you’ll get an additional entry. Just let me know that you did so I can count it.

But wait! There’s more! If you subscribe to my blog, that will count as a 3rd entry.

This contest is only open to the U.S. and Canada.

I’ll be posting the winner on the 11th and sending the winner an e-mail. After this, he/she will have 3 days to send me a shipping address before I move to the next number drawn.

Good luck!

  1. Sounds like a cool book. Maybe having it will motivate my husband to finish all his half-baked attempts at yard work in our backyard. Otherwise, we might be doing some of the ideas in the front yard! :)
