There is Simply Not ENOUGH COFFEE!

Oi! I'm ready for today to be over already. I can't believe how EXHAUSTED I am.

Last night, we all turned in a bit early since the hubster had to return to work after having 2 weeks off. Alex went right to sleep and I headed to bed around 9:30. The hubster suddenly became restless and complained that he couldn't sleep. I stayed up until I felt he was almost asleep...

and then...

Alex was standing at the gate in his doorway crying. Well, I was awake already so I went to put him back to bed. I'm pretty sure he had a night terror because he was pretty spooked and didn't want me to leave. I took to sleeping on his floor until he was able to rest...and that never happened. Basically, from 11:30 to 1:30, I was trying to help Alex get to sleep. He would be just about there and then become restless again.

As you can imagine, after 2 hours of staring at him and comforting him when he was upset, I was ready for my "turn" to be over. I felt like I wasn't helping him at all. So, the hubster went to try and calm Alex down next while I tried to sleep.

No luck.

Alex began screaming and I knew I had to go back in there. I sat and rocked Alex for a bit, turned on a symphony CD, and put Alex back in bed. The poor little guy fell asleep while clutching my hand in his.

Finally.

I went straight to bed...at 2:45am.

I'm SO in need of a Grande caramel mocha latte but there's no way I'm leaving my house today. The world should never see me looking like this.

Do you happen to know of a coffee shop that delivers?

  1. Wouldn't that be awesome if a coffee shop delivered. You're on to something here.

  2. We had a crazy sleep thing going on here yesterday too. We had a semi-crazy morning/afternoon, so Melody didn't take a nap. She'd ask to hold something and then push it away and say no. Then she'd burst out crying. She was cranky (which never ever happens) during dinner, and was a little fussy before bedtime. I hope it was just a one-time thing. The night terrors are scary, but I think they say the kids usually never remember what happens.

  5. Must be something in the air - my Zost couldn't sleep last night either. And I had to be to work at 5:30 which means a 4:00 AM wake-up call. UGH!

  6. Ugh I'm sorry, hopefully you'll get some rest soon. There really should be more coffee stands willing to deliver, there used to be one near where I used to work, which was so great during busy shifts! Alas, they didn't last long.

  7. OH NO!!! I do hope you get some rest today! I think that it would be awesome to start a business that delivered coffee and desserts! I would be their number one customer!!!
