Quotable Sunday ~ Feb. 1

This week, I chose quotes on joy. I've been struggling with finding the joy in certain situations in my life so these quotes mean a lot to me. I hope you enjoy them!


Joy is the best makeup.

The sharing of joy, whether physical, emotional, psychic, or intellectual, forms a bridge between the sharers which can be the basis for understanding much of what is not shared between them, and lessens the threat of their difference.

The deeper that sorrow carves into your being the more joy you can contain. Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven?

Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy.

Give not over thy soul to sorrow; and afflict not thyself in thy own counsel. Gladness of heart is the life of man and the joyfulness of man is length of days. 

May your walls know joy; May every room hold laughter and every window open to great possibility.

  1. I like your last quote. I believe my home is the foundation of my joy. I put everything that I am and everything that I have into it so I can ensure that it's sitting on a solid foundation.
