Our AMAZING Time At Sammy Duvall's in Orlando (review)

If you would have told me 5 years ago that I would be visiting Sammy Duvall's on my 5th anniversary for a para-sailing adventure, I would have laughed at you. After all, anyone who knows me knows that things like that are just not my speed.

Well, I found out we had an opportunity to visit Sammy Duvall's Watersports Centre at Disney's Contemporary Resort for a complimentary flight and I just couldn't say "no" to that. I had agonized over it, sure. I even did searches on YouTube for success and fail footage of others taking the flight (not necessarily with Sammy Duvall, though). In the end, I thought it best to just relax and try to enjoy myself without making myself sick about it.

The date was set up and the hubster and I became excited to go para-sailing at Sammy Duvall's first thing in the morning on our 5th anniversary. It's quite a way to start the day, no?

We met the staff there and hopped on a boat. One assistant got us geared up to go and told us how we needed to sit on the back of the boat in order to take off successfully. And off we went...

(Sorry the video gets shaky here and there. I was trying to hold it steady but it was windy up there.)

From about 400 feet in the air, we could see all of Disney World. We spotted the different resorts, Disney World, Epcot, and other parks. We had breathtaking views of the area. I wished I could stay up there for a bit longer. It was so relaxing and invigorating all at the same time.

In a word, it was AMAZING. It was honestly one of the best experiences of my life and I'm so glad we had the opportunity to do that together. Everything from the take-off to the landing, if you will, was smooth and easy. We were even able to land on the boat so we didn't get wet at all. That was comforting. The staff kept a close eye on us to make sure we were safe and I felt great about it knowing that they're trained to handle just about anything.

Here's the scoop on para-sailing at Sammy Duvall's Watersports Centre (taken from their website) but be aware there are other ways to enjoy the water beyond para-sailing while you're there. This was just what we chose to do. Oh, and just for the record, we did the "regular flight" in tandem.

If you want to get a bird’s eye view of the Walt Disney World Resort and Orlando, take a flight with Sammy Duvall’s Parasailing crew. Come fly alone or with a friend at the only parasailing location in Central Florida.

**Thanks to Sammy Duvall's Watersports Centre who through VisitOrlando.com, provided us with a complimentary, tandem flight. I received no other compensation. My opinion is mine and mine alone. Others may disagree or may have a different experience.
