Check Out SWAGG, A New App for Android And iPhone Devices

I love receiving a gift card for any holiday or occasion. To me, a gift card symbolizes an opportunity to go shopping {and I love to shop}. I also have this habit of collecting rewards cards when I'm out shopping. If I frequent one place often enough, I feel it's worth it to get some points and earn discounts in the future.

What do these 2 things have in common? Why, the new SWAGG application, of course. Allow me to share some "what's" and "how's" about SWAGG and then I'll share my own experience with you.

WHAT IS SWAGG?
SWAGG has launched a new app that deals with the troublesome problem of how to deal with the overabundance of gift cards, loyalty & membership cards that clutter up your wallet or handbag. Basically you can load all those gift cards, loyalty points, etc into your iPhone or Android mobile device.
SWAGG allows consumers to import more than 250 brands of gift cards and rewards cards and, unlike plastic cards, SWAGG permits consumers to view available balance and reward information on most of these cards. Additionally, consumers can use their mobile device to give, get and even exchange SWAGG GIFTS from participating merchant partners such as American Apparel Inc., The Wet Seal Inc., Crocs Inc. 1-800-Flowers.com and Arden B. Through SWAGG, consumers can access the offers that matter most to them, connecting users with more than 3,000 retailers. Retailers benefit by acquiring new customers, increasing in-store business and retaining existing customers.

My experience with this app got off to a bit of a bumpy start. I was having a hard time getting it to come up so I could create an account. Thankfully, whatever bugs were in the way disappeared after I walked away from it for a bit. After I got everything set up, I was sent a $20 gift card to use.

The gift card could be applied to the store of my choice from the participating merchants, so I chose to use it at Crocs. I also chose to make the purchase online rather than going to the store. Let's face it, it's very close to Christmas and the stores are nutty. I wanted to enjoy the shopping experience while not getting pushed out of the way.

All I had to do was choose the "use online" option of the card and that gave me all the information I needed to fill out the credit card information on the check out page. It was so easy! And look at the deals I scored using only the $20 card.

The kids shoes were buy one get one half-off so I headed to the outlet. There, I found shoes a size up from where my kids are now to wear in the spring/summer seasons next year. I'll be thanking myself for this in about 4 or 5 months.
 Eliana's getting the Gabby shoe in espresso. I paid $3.99!
 Alex is getting the Electro Slide in Lime/Navy. I paid $12.49!
And since Eliana's come with cute Jibbitz, I wanted Alex to have his own. I bought him a Buzz Lightyear for $3. {These are buy one get one half off as well but I had to keep the total at $20 or under for the sake of this review.}

My grand total was $19.48 and my little ones are set for the warmer weather that's just around the corner {wishful thinking, I know}.

My final thoughts on SWAGG ? I really like the concept. I'm looking forward to more stores becoming available on the application. For now, it's sitting pretty on my phone and will be keeping track of all the gift cards I accrue in a few days as well as any awards cards I have.

Don't take my word for it, though. Download it to your phone for free and give it a try. It never hurts to try something new and in this case, you'll be donating $1 to Stand Up To Cancer just for trying it out. {Through December Only}

The opinions shared are mine and mine alone. Others may have a different experience. By posting this review and sharing my link with Mom Bloggers Club I was entered in a drawing for an iPad. Wish me luck!
