Lego DUPLO's New Play With Letters Set {review}

LEGO Duplo has recently released new products for the season. These include sets that foster learning in more than one way. Since Eliana and Alex are both big fans of their Duplo blocks, I was excited to review the new Play With Letters Set with them and see their response to it.

When the set arrived, Alex was very eager to crack into it. We found a block for every letter of the alphabet, a few extra blocks to help us build different things, a wheeled block to build into a truck, 2 flowers, a cat, and 1 little friend to play in whatever it is we create {62 pieces in total}.

First, Alex wanted to create a building similar to the one on the front of the box. We got to work and he decided to add "lots and lots of letters" to the top. As we added them, we named the letters and talked about what was on the block with them. I decided to add the flower on a block in front of the house while Alex put the little girl on a chair.

Alex was so proud of this house and wanted to move on to make other things since he saw that he had a lot of blocks left over to build with.

Here's his "letter tower truck" that he drove the cat around with. This was the first of many towers and trucks created.

We played together {Eliana included} with these blocks for a while and they've been brought out almost daily since we received them. Eliana's favorite part is taking the blocks apart and putting them away in the box we keep them in while Alex enjoys creating and pretending with them. He's even built a Duplo tower on his train table so he could show his wooden trains his new blocks.

With the Play With Letters Set, we talk about letters, colors, counting, and creating. This is wonderful for Alex to play with the ideas he's learning at preschool and it's a fabulous introduction for Eliana who is just becoming aware of the world around her and how it all works. I feel this set is well worth the money for the learning and fun it has brought to my home.

Thank you, LEGO!
