Using Shoes To Change a Look From Day To Night #Kohls #Spon

**Thanks to the PR firm, on behalf of Kohl's, who supplied a gift card to facilitate the purchase of 2 pair of shoes for  this review. I wasn't compensated in any other way. In this post I share my thoughts and opinions of the items mentioned. Others may have a different experience or opinion.**

I was given a mission to accomplish by simply shopping at Kohl's for 2 pair of shoes; one pair from the Rock & Republic line and another from the LC Lauren Conrad line. The goal was to buy shoes {and use my own accessories } to change an outfit from a daytime look to a nighttime look. I headed to the store with a coupon in hand and found both pair of shoes I liked to be on sale!!

For starters, I chose this adorable, Jennifer Lopez romper to use for my outfit. It's white and comfortable, but being pretty basic in style makes it easy to take from day to night.

So, let's just pretend I was going to be spending an afternoon shopping {since that's what I love to do when I get free time }, but I needed to be able to switch up my look quickly in order to make it to dinner reservations with the hubster later that night. Are you with me? Good.

For the daytime look, I used an infinity scarf with coral and apricot hues to pop off the white romper. I have a beaded bracelet on to add to the look. To really pull off this color pop, though, I grabbed the Rock & Republic Gladiator Wedge Sandals in Coral. This is such an easy but colorful, summer look.

Here's a closer look at the sandals. They zip up the back and that part is lined with suede. The sandals are SO very comfortable but they get lots of attention when I wear them out. It's kind of funny because I forget I'm wearing them and then see people staring at my feet, making me look down a little panicked to see what's wrong. {ha!}

Are you ready to see how I make this romper chic for a night out? First, I grabbed a hairpin and pulled my hair back into a simple french twist. I took off the scarf and bracelet and replaced those with a long necklace, a short necklace with a single diamond pendant, and silver bracelet while adding a cute ring to my right hand. I failed to grab earrings but I think that's the only thing I would change as they would have really finished off the look nicely. {A simple clutch purse would also work very well with this.} Finally, I took off the sandals and replaced them with LC Lauren Conrad Platform High Heels in Nude.

Here, the shoes are nearly visible but they make the whole outfit.

Now, my simple look becomes easy, breezy, and chic while making me feel feminine and giving the impression that at 5 foot 5 inches, I somehow have legs for days. ;)

Here's a closer look at the platform heel. My favorite part about these shoes is the rubber soles. I can walk easily in these heels & don't feel like I'm going to slip on any given step. Also? These shoes go with anything so I can use them again and again.

Fun, right? There were SO many choices I had when shopping for shoes at Kohl's but I'm pretty happy with my choices for this outfit. Have you purchased shoes of these brands before? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Or even your ideas on shoes you would have chosen for the same romper.

Sidebar: You can also purchase the Jennifer Lopez Mixed-Media Romper and Apt. 9 Geometric Lurex Striped Infinity Scarf at Kohl's. ;)
