Chemical Free Carpet Powder ~ DIY

Young Living DIY

Most of us vacuum. I have on my chore chart to vacuum my home every Monday. Basically, I don't just run a vacuum around the floor. I also edge the room and get up in the top corners, etc. I love  the gratification of getting the rugs and carpets super clean but I want to use that as an opportunity to freshen up my home at the same time.

What I don't use is the "carpet deodorizers" that you'd find on some store shelf somewhere. I think those just make an attempt to freshen up the space while never really doing anything but adding a scent to whatever other dingy scents are in the rug or carpet. Instead, I grab a few simple ingredients and make my own carpet powder.

When I whipped this up the last time, I used Purification oil to completely get rid of any unpleasant smells and Peppermint to scare the bugs away. :)   Some people like to use something other than peppermint and that's great. It's completely up to you to customize it the way you like.

I also used a small Ball jar and a petal top to act like a shaker so only a little comes out of the jar at a time. :)
