And at this point, I am done trying to impress others...most of the time.

If someone has a toddler, I do try to make sure all the spiders are swept up out of the corners, and I do like the beds to be made. But I want people to feel comfortable in my house.

See, I live in the deep South, and so many people around here are so all about appearances, it is nauseating. I can't get involved with all that because it is not who I am, and it's not what is important.

Of course it has taken me years to learn this!

Oh, and please don't think I'm trying to say your making cookies was trying to impress the people at your husband's job--that's just being sweet!Elizabeth Channelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03694334658055229350noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7984837548929739026.post-50011568298422769442008-08-04T17:00:00.000-04:002008-08-04T17:00:00.000-04:00My Madi turned 16 months on the 27th of last month...My Madi turned 16 months on the 27th of last month!! I though...Amy...your story made me remember this... I thought you'd appreciate this one..When I was a young bride and Bob was teaching, I made him ice tea to drink..didn't make him breakfast, didn't make him lunch...but a thermos of ice tea..yeah sure...The very feminist teachers he worked with were appalled that I would do this for him! They thought it beneath me to make tea?
That's when I started calling Bob "my Hero" for allowing me to stay home, raise kids, and make tea for him!Life with Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15142175416319535472noreply@blogger.com
