This morning, we had big plans to go hang with friends and play video games. :) We were really looking forward to this visit as it's been a while since we've had our families together.
Well, we got everything together for Alex and headed out to our car...as usual. When I sat in the passenger seat, however, I noticed something very depressing.
"Did we not take our iPod in last night?"
The hubster's face turned shocked. "Are you kidding me?"
Well, I wasn't kidding. Our FM transmitter had chords hanging from it that USED to hook up to the iPod. I instantly became VERY angry. Someone stole my iPod.
The hubster made a comment as we drove to our friend's home along the lines of, "Isn't it sad that you can't leave anything in your car anymore?" That's not a statement I would deem to be "helpful" so I told him I didn't want to talk about it.
We enjoyed our time with our friends and I was able to take my mind off of it for a while. When we got home, though, I looked around for the iPod and realized that it was just gone.
For now, I'm sad that it's gone but I'm choosing to not become spiteful and angry about it. Yes, it was an expensive thing to lose, but, my car is in one piece. No windows were broken. Alex's car seat and stroller were still in the car. Nothing was damaged.
I don't like the idea of someone being in my car but "stuff" doesn't take a special value to me over the safety of my family and the many blessings we have been given.
So...yah, I'm a little sad but I'll get over it, I'm sure.

I am so sorry, but what your husband said is really true. Someone took my husbands psp from his car on Christmas Eve. It is sad that people don't think twice about taking someone elses property. I am glad that you are trying not to be angry and that nothing else was taken.
ReplyDeleteOh that stinks! We've had a rash of purse nabbings from cars, tis the season, people are desparate, it's so sad!
ReplyDeleteOh that is horrible! Dontcha hate that- knowing it is some kid out there- that passes by all the time and you will see them and never know they did it. Things continue to get worse everywhere- its ashame!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. It is frustrating.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the missing ipod. People can be really terrible some times - how could someone even think about taking something that's not theirs?
ReplyDeleteMy dad gave me an ipod for my bday 2 years ago and when we were in our car accident a few months later the ipod was the only thing not recovered from the wreck. I know how much it hurts to lose it.
That's awful! I'm sorry that happened. My husband's work van was broken into ... almost a year ago. Broke the passenger window to unlock the side slider. They took everything but the wirenuts. All his personal tools {including the ones that belonged to my late father}, his carhart jackets, his company tools and cables, even the cowboy hat I bought him a few Christmases ago. =( It's a horrible feeling. I'm glad your car wasn't ruined at all and everything else was still there. Still a shotty situation though =(
ReplyDeleteAmy Amy why didn't you tell us? Oh man I had no idea anything like that happened! I am so sorry:(
ReplyDeleteoh Amy..that TOTALLY stinks!! I cant believe that someone did that!
ReplyDeleteTHat stinks. My husband is very trusting and has no problem leaving his keys in his car with his doors unlocked. He doesn't really do that anymore, but he does leave all kinds of things in his car. He things that because we live in Iowa in a smallish town everything should be safe. Unfortunately that's not the way the world works. I'd be ticked off if I were you too!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry! That stinks!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby just accidentally broke a figurine that was very, extremely special to me. I cried. A lot. I usually don't cry over "things," but I just couldn't help it. So I'm with ya on this one. It just sucks.
ReplyDeleteUgh that sucks, well karma will come back to get them. and I agree it is sad we can't leave stuff in cars anymore, crap i left my purse out there last night!
ReplyDeleteAww that is sad, but everyone is safe most importantly. Even the smallest things have a reason for happening. Sending hugs
ReplyDeleteThat is sad and I love your outlook on what happened.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry someone stole your ipod. I'm still hoping you'd find it.
So glad you are safe.
It is sad that this happens so often. We have had our cars gone through on a few occasions. Just stealing change. The worst was when we were away for 10 days the gas was taken from my husbands tank.
ReplyDeleteWe always double check our cars at night now.
That stinks!! What is the matter with people???!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's not only sad what the world has come to, but terrifying as well! Glad it was just your car and not your house though, and that you are all safe & sound!
