Oh....Where, oh, where, oh where is shadow....

See what happens when you watch Bear in the Big Blue House with your wee one? You start singing the songs. SOMEtimes, you even look like you enjoy the show MORE than your wee one.

It's true, right?

I have all sorts of crazy renditions of my favorite songs from cartoons/puppet/computer animated shows. :)

ANYway. That's not the reason I jumped on here. It just happens to be what's on the forefront of my mind.

I'm here as a means of escape. *seriously, I'm hiding here so if you could keep it down, I'd really appreciate it*

I started a new semester of classes. While the title of my classes aren't very important, their form is. I have one class that I'm taking on campus once a week over a 16 week timeframe. I'm pretty sure this class will be super easy for me and I'm liking it so far. The other class I'm taking, however, is an online course over an 8 week period of time.

I know. You're thinking, "big deal, Ames...pull it together." Right?

Well, the online class is pretty involved to say the least. My professor wasted no time pouring on the work. Read, read, read, essay, essay, essay, paper, feedback, feedback....blah blah blah. She even came right out and said, if you don't succeed with the layout in this first week, you may as well drop the class.
Gee, THANKS, professor lady. There's nothing like a good word of encouragement to give you that "can do" attitude.

So far, I've been able to keep up with her work load. It's difficult with a toddler running around and a hubster working late hours, but it's totally do-able...right? Well, yesterday I received an e-mail and a "voice message" from my professor saying, "Are you going to be able to get your work done? Have you been on for 5 days yet?"  Sheesh lady...I really appreciate your trying to hold my hand but you can let go now. I felt like I was under attack with the voice message.

The biggest obstacle I've faced this first week of class is...dun, dun, dun...the internet. It turns out my "pay good money for high speed internet" plan is having a bad couple of days. Hm...Could it be sick? Well, whatever the problem is, it's driving me loco. I get 2 clicks into my daily surf and I'm kicked off. Then, when it's working just right, it's soooooooooooooooo slooooooooooooooow. I'm not exaggerating, people. I can click on one thing and then I have to wait for a good 3 minutes before it actually starts to go where I so kindly clicked.

Anywho, thanks for reading my "venting post". I only have 7 more weeks of professor lady.

7 more weeks. I can do this.

  1. Good luck with the class. You'll make it!

Oh, and we all sing Backyardagans songs in our house. I am pretty sure my husband was WAY more excited about a full week of new episodes last week than G was. Ok, I know he was because G is 17 months and could watch the same thing 100 times and be happy!

  2. You can do it! The internet issue is a bummer. I hate it when our "expensive" "fast" internet is slow I feel like I should get a refund or something.

  5. I hear you with the online course grief - I took my fair share.

In my house its any Princess song out there that is being sung. Or Pink...don't ask :-)

And on a side-note: GAH! Your dot-com has been blocked from my work computer. Now how will I pass the time?!?!

  6. i have kids songs in my head all day...i think it's why i still listen to immature pop/rap on the radio...it really has a way of clearing out Teacher Suizie's songs.
i had a couple summers of 8 week classes, so i feel you there. the best part is that you can earn yourself a pretty good date night celebration when it's over :)
