OMIGOD, You Guys!

 

So, this is the original cast for the Broadway play, Legally Blonde. The original Elle. (sigh) I wanted SO badly to go to Broadway to see her in this play...and then she retired her roll. MTV did a search for the new Elle and I watched EVERY episode to find out who they would select. They chose the obvious girl, but my favorite was a girl from a local city.

Long story, short? OK. Legally Blonde went on tour and is stopping at a nearby university so my mom and I made a pact to go see this play. I had no idea what the cast would look like, but, I'm in love with this musical so I didn't care. THEN, I found out that my favorite girl from the MTV search would be in the cast. Sweet! I was even more excited. 

But wait! There's more!

My mom sent me this e-mail last night and I nearly cried.

"- Becky Gulsvig, the lead in the Broadway tour of LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL , broke her toe and is unable to perform as Elle Woods in the production playing at Wharton Center Tuesday, January 13 through Sunday, January 18. Stepping into the lead role is one of Broadway's biggest stars and the original Elle Woods on Broadway, Laura Bell Bundy. Bundy received a Tony Award nomination for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Elle Woods.
"I'm excited that I can help out! It's a great role and one I'm extremely proud of. I'm looking forward to stepping back onto the stage and performing," says Laura Bell Bundy.

...Ironically, Bundy was scheduled to be in East Lansing teaching her TAKE IT FROM THE TOP interactive workshops with fellow Broadway star Paul Canaan. Becky Bulsvig will take Bundy's place teaching the workshops."

OMIGOD, YOU GUYS!

I'm lucky enough to be able to see a play I love with the original Elle?? AAAAAAAAH! I'm considering myself very lucky, sporting my pink, and will be soaking in every moment on this opening night. 

YIPPEE!

P.S. I'm not a TOTAL Broadway geek. I'm a SELECTIVE Broadway geek. I like what I like...and I really get into it. lol
