So, here's my one quote for the day. I could have chosen a few more, but I feel this one quote is pretty powerful all by itself.
"Sincere forgiveness isn't colored with expectations that the other person apologize or change. Don't worry whether or not they fully understand you. Love them and release them. Life feeds back truth to people in its own way and time." ~ Sarah Paddison
*My thoughts: In keeping with the theme I started last week about focusing on positive things and healthy relationships, I NEED NEED NEED to practice better forgiveness. Yes, people can disappoint and hurt. Being upset at someone for this is completely valid. However, when the moment has passed and the only thing I'm left with is my own resentment, it's time to forgive (truly) and move on.
I love your quote, it is such an eye opener because a lot of times when hubby and I disagree, I apologize just to hear his. I realize how empty those words really are in that situation! Thanks for a great quote!
ReplyDeleteI need to practice that as well. Its very hard but well worth it.
ReplyDeleteThat is an amazing quote! One we should all live by for sure! Love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a powerful quote, Amy! Definitely something I need to practice as well - like Anji, sometimes I apologize to my hubby just so he'll do the same...(blushes) Good words to live by! Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteAmy,
ReplyDeleteThat is indeed a powerful quote and one many I think, myself included, need to practise more often.
