As a mom, I’m all about nutrition for my children, especially during the infant stage. So, naturally, I’m all about nursing the new baby moments after she is born.
I also will be pumping and storing milk to make sure that if I’m not able to be with her 24/7, someone can feed her and offer her just as much nutrition.
While nursing my son, I was never aware of the potential harm in the method I had of storing milk. I used containers made for the freezer that I could label. While my intentions were the best, I had no idea that the oxygen in that container could have an impact on the nutritional value of the milk I stored. I also didn’t even consider that the taste could be different after freezing and thawing.
Thankfully, I learned about the MilkBank and I will be sure to use this system when storing milk for my daughter. MilkBank allows users to vacuum seal their pumped milk in a BPA free container for chilling in the refrigerator or freezing. This same container can be used as a bottle with the quick switch of a top.
By vacuum sealing the milk, I’ll actually be removing that harmful oxygen I recently learned about while I’m keeping the milk in its purest state.
Here are the items that are included in the MilkBank Storage System:
- 1 Vacuum Pump
- 3 Storage Caps
- 1 2.5 oz storage/feeding bottle
- 2 4.5 oz storage/feeding bottles
- 1 outer insulated bottle with Stage 1 nipple & cap
I appreciate how easy the vacuum pump is to use and the way the feeding bottles are made.
The cap on the bottle is vented in 3 places which helps to prevent any issues with gas, colic, spit-up, and more. There is also a leak-proof filter system in place to ensure the bottle can not and will not leak. (That is SO nice to know. I can’t tell you how many bottles went wasted due to a leak issue.) Finally, all parts of the Dexbaby bottle are dishwasher safe so you can forget about buying unnecessary cleaning tools.
