Naming the New “Ride”

So, I’ve really been thinking about the perfect name for the new minivan we will be picking up tomorrow.  (By the way, I know this is completely ridiculous, but humor me, k?)

I mentioned yesterday that I thought it kind of looked penguin-ish. When I told the hubs that, he raised his eyebrows and said he hadn’t thought of that. Well, then.

I told him the perfect name would probably come to me when I was able to drive it and get to “know” it.  HOWEVER, it’s here! I have the name for the car…er…minivan.

She will be called “Gloria”. Why Gloria? You can watch this clip and tell me the van does not look JUST like that penguin. (OK…so it doesn’t look just like her but the coloring and rounded edges are definitely the same.)

Gloria is an Irish name (we’re an Irish family) and it means “Glory”. “Glory” is exactly what hubs and I were thinking when we found out about great deal on the minivan.  Plus, the fact that Gloria is a singing penguin, makes her name all the more perfect for the van. I sing every single time I get behind the wheel.

So, what do you think? Did I make a good choice?
