ERGObaby Heart2Heart Infant Insert (review & giveaway)

ergobabyergobaby1I’ve been able to try out different brands and styles of baby carriers but nothing has compared to the comfort and support that the ERGObaby carrier offers. I’ve had my carrier for about 10 months now.

You may think that having a 2 year old son would mean that I don’t have a use for a baby carrier until the baby on the way makes her appearance. However, I have found the ERGObaby carrier to come in very handy with my son.

There was a time this past spring or summer when Alex fell ill and just wanted to be held and carried. I was more than happy to comfort him as he needed until I had to get him something to eat or drink. He refused to let me put him down which meant that I had to come up with a way to keep him with me and get what he needed at the same time.

I quickly grabbed the ERGObaby carrier and placed my son inside with him facing me. This would give him the feeling of being held while leaving my hands free. The beautiful thing was, my back never once hurt from carrying him like that and I kept the ERGObaby carrier nearby to use when I needed my hands free for something.

As you can see, I’m a HUGE fan of the ERGObaby carrier. And since you now understand that, I’m sure you’ll have no problem figuring out why I was so excited when ERGObaby let me know that something new was coming out and I would be able to feature it on my blog.

I didn’t care what they were sending, I knew it was going to be great.

Finally the day came when they revealed their new product at the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas and I could know more about what I would be reviewing. I learned that the new product was called theergobaby1 Infant Insert for the ERGObaby carrier. As you can imagine, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.

When it arrived at my house, I cracked open the box right away to check it out. I was so impressed with the way it was put together and how comfortable it looked.

Doesn’t that look like the most comfortable cocoon for an infant to be carried in? I love the padding and the removable pillow at the bottom of the insert that allows it to grow with my baby after she’s born. Also the fact that it snaps closed with and adjustable strap to make the baby as comfortable as possible is wonderful.

Since my newborn is not yet here, I put the insert in the carrier just to give you an idea of what it looks like.

Honestly, it makes me wish I were small enough to curl up in something so plush and cozy. I have no doubt that my baby is going to love theergobaby1Infant Insert as much as I do…if not more.

Here is some specific information about the new infant insert taken from the website:

Our innovative design promotes healthy maturation of the spine by supporting the pelvis, hip joint, and leg position rather than putting a baby in a compromising sitting or hanging position before the spine is ready. It has extra cushions at the back and bottom to support the natural curvature of a baby's developing spine. The ERGObaby Infant Insert heart2heart also supports the safety of the baby’s head and neck in this critical stage of development. Thanks to the ERGObaby Infant Insert heart2heart and Carrier in combination, parents can carry their newborn close to their heart so they can remain attentive to their baby’s needs and at the same time continue daily activities. The ERGObaby Carrier with Infant Insert heart2heart truly is the only carrier you will need from newborn to toddler.

ERGObaby is a company that not only understands what’s best for the mom/dad/caregiver that will be wearing their carrier but they also take the time to think about what is in the best interest of the child who will be inside the carrier. As a mom, I LOVE this about ERGObaby. And while I’m not sure how they could possibly improve on their carriers. I look forward to any other new changes or items they come up with.

BUY IT:  You can buy a ergobaby1Infant Insert in “Natural” (like the one I reviewed) for $25 from their website.
