Alex absolutely loves watching Christmas movies all year ‘round and he’s a big Disney fan to boot. For this reason, when I was offered the opportunity to review these two DVD’s I didn’t hesitate for a second.
On September 29th, Disney released Mickey’s Christmas Carol and Winnie the Pooh: Seasons of Giving on DVD.
Alex was so very excited to watch Mickey’s Christmas Carol as soon as we received it. To be honest, I was very excited to view it myself since it had been years since I had seen it. It tells the classic story of Ebeneezer Scrooge in a way that only Disney can tell.
What Alex and I both enjoyed about this DVD is that it has 3 other classic short films on it. These films include:
I’m familiar with all 3 short films but I didn’t remember them until I saw them. Suddenly, a flood of memories filled my mind as I recalled watching these with my family as a child.
BUY IT: You can buy this DVD at a number of retailers for around $19.99 (US)
Winnie the Pooh: Seasons of Giving was second on our agenda of DVD’s to watch. Alex and I popped it in and sat back with our snacks to enjoy the show.
The wonderful thing about this DVD is that it teaches little ones that giving is not something that’s just for Christmas but giving can (and should) be done all throughout the year.
Alex loved watching as the characters told the stories and especially when Tigger was his tiggerific self. He also liked the little stocking that came with the DVD. I explained to Alex that stockings are for filling with small gifts at Christmas. After he understood that, he found cars that fit in there perfectly and called them a present or a gift. :)
The bonus features on this DVD include:
*“The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: The Magic Earmuffs”
*“The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: The Wishing Bear”
BUY IT: You can find this DVD at a number of retailers for around $29.99 (US).
