SimAnimals Africa for Nintendo DS and Wii (review & giveaway)

Now available for Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii, is the game SimAnimals Africa. This is the second SimAnimals game that has been released from EA Games.

I was able to play this game on my Nintendo DS and found it to be addictive and fun. To start, I went through a tutorial that showed me a bit about the game and how to play it. Basically, I started with nothing but land and had to create an environment that would attract an animal. From that point, I completed specific tasks to attract other animals and care for them. This is where the game becomes really fun as I was able to learn more about the animals I had and attract others.

I haven’t beaten the game yet, but I can honestly say, I wish I had more time to spend playing it. Also, I wish I could see what the game experience is like on the Nintendo Wii. I’m sure it’s a little different from the DS version.

Here are the different descriptions of the game for the DS and Wii from the SimAnimals Africa website.

For the Nintendo DS:

  • Interact with exotic animals in the wild
  • Conquer the kingdom in Co-Op mode!
  • Discover wild animals’ secret abilities
  • Solve challenges to unlock items, animals, and levels
  • Collect unique items to receive badges
  • Discover the ultimate secret of the wild kingdom

For the Nintendo Wii:

  • Interact with exotic animals in the wild
  • Journey through the jungles and savannas of Africa
  • Discover wild animals' secret abilities
  • Solve challenges to unlock items, animals, and levels
  • Collect unique items to receive badges
  • Discover the ultimate secret of the wild kingdom!

What I enjoy most about the Sims games is the flexibility in play. You are in control of what you do and where you go in the game. You play on your own timeline and there’s usually fun things hidden in the game for the *real* gamers to find.

This game is rated “E” for “Everyone” so it’s something you can buy for a child at any reasonable age and not worry about any offensive material in the game itself.

Buy It! You can purchase SimAnimals Africa for Nintendo DS for around $29.00 and for Nintendo Wii for around $39.00.
