Meet Uneaks Shoes Review (Giveaway Now Closed)

As a mom to a very proud boy, I love finding opportunities for him to make his own decisions and feel proud of the choice he made. Uneaks is a company that supports his independence as well with their line of shoes and socks.

Alex was able to try out a pair of Uneaks tennis shoes and some socks. He was very excited to see the socks but didn't understand the significance of the shoes until I put them on him. Once he fully understood how the shoes and socks worked together, he was all for it.

These are the shoes I chose for him to try.

I, personally, was very curious about how these shoes would work. I know the Velcro is easier for him to use but the window really made me curious. I was worried that it wouldn't be supportive or would get his foot wet in the snow or puddles. I can describe it to you like this; it's a soft, pliable plastic that shows the socks while still helping to hold and support the foot.  I don't see any way that this shoe could allow any water in except if it came in through the top of the shoe but that's just the same as every other shoe out there.

Yes, I said "window" in my description. That's what makes these shoes so cool. Uneaks creates adorable socks in all sorts of styles that will show through the window of the shoe. This is what I was referring to earlier with helping Alex feel proud of the choices he makes. With these shoes, I can pull out his Uneaks socks and let him pick a pair that he would like to wear. When he puts on his shoes, he can still see the socks he chose in the shoe's window. And if that isn't enough, the socks have a different print on each side so he can choose which side he wants to see. This is so neat.

I'll show you the socks he received so you can see what I mean. Here they are.

Now do you see? He can choose between either side to show through the window. He loves this.

Here's a video to show you in even greater detail.

If I had to give Uneaks a grade for their shoes and socks, I would give them an A. The only thing keeping it from being an A+ for me is that the socks don't have any grippers on the bottom of them. Alex loves to run and as soon as he gets to the tile floors in our home, he starts sliding and falls down most times. Perhaps this is something they will add to their socks in the future at Uneaks. If they do, you'll know it was MY good idea. lol

Buy It: You can purchase Uneaks shoes for both boys and girls at $39.99 and socks for $3.99 a pair.
