My son, Alex, loves to play with my hair from time to time. He gently pulls on curls and watches them bounce back. I tend to think it's sweet.
However, the other day we had the following conversation while he was playing with my hair.
"What is this, mommy?"
"It's a curl, buddy. Mom has curly hair."
"No, it's not. Your hair's not curly, mommy."
"What? Of course it is, silly."
"No, mommy. It's SNAKES! Eeeeeeeeeeeeee!" (he started to act like he was shaking)
"Mommy's hair is snakes? That's just lovely."
"Oh, yes, mommy. Your hair is snakes!!! It's not curly."
I couldn't help but shake my head and laugh. Is this how my child sees me?
