MySims Racing for Nintendo Wii (review)

Available for Nintendo Wii and DS, MySims Racing is a very fun, very addictive game.

I've said before that I'm a fan of the Sims. My love started years ago playing The Sims on my computer. Through the years, I've watched the game change and evolve into different games that can be played on different platforms. Its quality, however, has only gotten better (in my humble opinion).

I was recently sent the MySims Racing game to play on my Nintendo Wii. From my first moment playing the game, I became very "into it." I started out with some quick races. In this mode, you select a character and car and head off to the races. I quickly learned that I should (ahem) really learn how to play the game so I could get better than last place in the races.

I then decided to head over to the "Story Mode". Here is where you learn how to drift, dodge, shoot, and win by creating your own character and playing out a game in which you take on several challenges and go through different levels of play. I've only since completed 40% of the game but I've built up and customized 3 cars that are getting better with every race I win. Speaking of racing, I've found that the tracks on this game not only get more challenging but they also get more exciting. I am always excited to see what new track and challenge lies ahead for me.

I also enjoy playing the multi-player mode with the hubster. We race around and he usually wins. :) We like choosing a random track since it's normally something neither one of us has raced on before.

Here are the game's features as listed on the MySims Racing website:

  • Race to the finish - Face a variety of tricky MySims opponents on a variety of challenging tracks

  • Four-player racing - Compete for prizes and bragging rights with up to four players

  • Strategize to win - Use drifting, boost control and driving strategy to get an edge on your opponents

  • Build your winning car - Improve power, acceleration, and handling by mixing and matching engines, suspension, and tires

  • Awesome Power-ups - Get ahead of the curve with awesome power-ups like a pumpkin catapult or bubble dropper

  • Nintendo DS Specific Feature - Up to four players can race each other using local wireless or Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection

Now, I should say that since I'm a mom, this is a game that I play when I want to unwind at the end of the day or on the weekend. I do so love having this to unwind with, though, when my little ones are sleeping.

If you're looking for a family-friendly game that is loads of fun, I highly recommend checking out MySims Racing from EA Games. This game is fun, fun, fun! Visit the official website for more details.

BUY IT: You can purchase MySims Racing at $29.95 for Nintendo Wii or DS.

** Thanks to EA Games for sending MySims Racing (for the Nintedo Wii) for me to try in my home.**
