April Showers ~ Mama Mio For A Tighter Tummy (review)

I guess it's not news that I just had a baby 5 months ago (Hello! Her picture shows up here constantly). And while I love being a mom to 2 adorable kiddos, I have a hard time getting excited for the post-baby body I'm rockin'. Yes, I understand 5 months isn't very long to give yourself to recover from all of the changes your body goes through during pregnancy. (And I don't think I'm being unrealistic with how I'd prefer to look.) I honestly just wished that I could tighten up my tummy a bit.

I started with eating a bit more healthy (save for the holiday treats I refuse to give up) and I also started exercising. These 2 things alone made a huge difference in how I looked and felt. But there was something different going on with my stomach...something different than what happened when I had Alex 3 years ago.

Enter Mama Mio...

I was sent the Bootcamp for Tummies set for review.

This set includes:

4 minute tummy-tucking exercise programme by ab rehab guru, Julie Tupler.
Tummy Toner improves texture and tone of your skin. 100ml/3.4 fl.oz
Get Waisted 9 clinically tested waist-whittling fat-busting ingredients. 100ml/3.4 fl.oz

See, the problem with my tummy couldn't be solved with all the healthy eating, aerobics, and abdominal exercises I was doing. In fact, I learned from Bootcamp for Tummies kit that toning the muscles in my tummy by doing crunches could possibly make my "muffin top" look more defined rather than toned. Why? Well, it's not the muscle itself that was the problem. My problem was with the placement of my tummy muscles.

Pregnancy can cause a separation in the abdominal muscles that can't be corrected by crunches or sit-ups. It's hard to explain what this looks like so I'll show you a before and after picture to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

Now do you see? OK. Now that we're on the same page, I can explain how Bootcamp for Tummies helps to resolve this.

Let's start with the muscles and work out to the skin. Bootcamp for Tummies has special exercises that they  ask you to do every day for 30 days. Now, I know what you're thinking...exercise does not sound "fun". Don't worry about that. These exercises are specific to your abdominal muscles and can be done at any time of the day while you're sitting or standing with your back straight. You won't break a sweat or need special clothes for this. These exercises take those separated muscles and pull them back in to their original position like a corset. They also help to strengthen your back muscles to give you better posture. (I'm loving the 30 day fix option over surgery. Aren't you?)

Now we'll talk about attacking the fat between your skin and your muscle. Bootcamp for Tummies includes a 3.4 fl.oz bottle of Get Waisted. This is a complex bottle for sure. Get Waisted is made up of 9 ingredients that have been clinically tested and proven to eliminate body fat.  I'll show you what the website has to say about it: (my results are given after full explanation of the 2 products I used.)
This is the holy grail of slimming potions; packed with NINE well proven ingredients designed to help combat fat deposits, tighten your tum, reduce puffiness, and – most importantly – maximise lipolysis.
Lipolysis is the way your body breaks down the fat stored in fat cells; giving you slim fat cells and a slimmer silhouette. Get Waisted’s ingredients are well proven in lab tests to dramatically increase the destruction of fat. If fat is the enemy, let us introduce you to your new best friend.
Our tester rubbed Get Waisted into her stomach and back for 30 days and lost an inch from her waist' Weight Watchers

Finally, we need to address the quality of the skin itself. My skin was in need of some firming for sure. It was a little "poofy" (in Amy terms) and I did have just a few stretch marks at the very bottom of my abdomen that made my skin a little loose (or crepey to use Mama Mio terms).

So how do we fix this? By using the Tummy Toner Skin Tightener, of course. This is a serum that is applied to the skin twice a day to make it more "tight" and less "loose". Here's the website's description of the Tummy Toner Skin Tightener.
A completely innovative bodycare serum; Tummy Toner Skin Tightener takes facial peel technology and applies it to the body. Its three stage action of exfoliation, skin tightening and massively nourishing anti-aging moisturisation will combat crepey, slack, tired skin – anywhere you need it. What women love about Tummy Toner is the difference it makes to the surface texture of your skin. Tummies, backs of arms, saggy knees (even saggy faces) will all benefit from a little lift, tighten and tone; the three sweetest words a girl can hear…
Now, for my results. I was not a perfect patient. There were days that I forgot a morning or evening application of the serums and there were times when doing the exercises completely slipped my mind. However, I have seen a big change in the appearance and texture of my abdomen. If you want to talk sizes, I dropped a pant size and am back in my pre-baby size. This happened during my testing time for the Bootcamp for Tummies kit and I don't know who or what else to credit for that. By simply drawing my muscles back into place and busting a little fat, I was able to fit right into my old pants. (There was no "squeezing in" going on at all.

My skin is definitely firmer than it was when I started with the kit as well. I have 90% less crepey skin where the stretch marks are and I feel a lot more confident in my skin's overall appearance.

Now, I'm not in tip-top shape just yet. I have more work to do when it comes to toning my abs and would like to firm things up in my thighs and butt a bit. (Yes, I did just admit that.) Lucky for me, the Tummy Toner and Get Waisted serums can be used wherever I need to use them. They are not specific to the tummy zone. Hallelujah! Also, there's plenty left over in my bottles as I only needed to use one or 2 pumps twice a day during my 30 day experiment.

If you're problem area is not your abdomen, Mama Mio has other bootcamp kits that you may find a better fit for your needs. Also, they sell plenty of skincare products to address any and every skin issue you may have.  They've created their line of products based on their own needs so the business is more personal than professional. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me.

BUY IT: You can purchase Bootcamp For Tummies for $99. That's a super deal as it includes the exercise instructions. Also, the Tummy Toner and Get Waisted serums sell for $56 a piece.

** Thanks to Mama Mio for the kit to review.**
