Honeywell Brings Holiday Cheer Indoors (review and giveaway)

Photobucket

I live in a condo and only used a door knocker prior to this review. I didn't want to even think about what it would take to wire up a door bell but I can't tell you how many times I cringed at the sound of someone banging on my door. With all the noise inside the home from my kiddos, I didn't appreciate the jarring sound of a pound on the door.

Honeywell {whom you may be familiar with more for thermostats than doorbells} has the perfect solution to my doorbell dilemma. The MyChime is a wireless doorbell that comes with a soundcard. There are also separate sound cards to purchase. {I'll talk a little more about that in a minute.}

Basically, after you've selected the chime you'd like to hear, you simply mount the speaker wherever you choose {please see instructions for distance} and mount the doorbell outside your door.

The setup is so easy {I did it myself} and takes about 15 minutes if all goes smoothly. I first chose a chime tune that was upbeat {I can't recall its title} but brief. However, now that the Holiday Season is upon us, I've changed it to a brief tune from "The Nutcracker". Also, I've adjusted the volume to be loud enough for me to hear but not top volume as I live in a small space and a little sound goes a long way.

Soundcards for the MyChime are sold separately for around $10. I received the Christmas Soundcard but other options include Halloween and Sports. The Christmas Soundcard includes the tunes We Wish You A Merry Christmas, Jingle Bells, Joy To The World, Deck The Halls, and the sound of sleigh bells jingling.

I love the fact that I can change the tune of the MyChime as often as I choose so that I can always be happy to hear someone at the door. It fits my personality to a "T" as I'm always apt to switch things up just because I feel like it.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with the wireless and simple setup of our new MyChime from Honeywell. We hadn't even considered something like this before receiving it for review but even my hubster will tell you, we're very happy to have it.

BUY IT: You can purchase your own Honeywell MyChime for around $50.
