In a few days, we'll be hosting family for a Christmas Eve brinner {breakfast for dinner}. As a woman, I want to make sure all my bases are covered and that I make room to enjoy their company rather than run around like a chicken with my head cut off. Sometimes, upgrades to things I already use come in handy to make this possible. This is one of those times.
This year, I'm looking forward to putting some items from Simplehuman to the test. I was sent a Mini Retro Can and a Sensor Pump to try out. Before I even get into the review, I can honestly say I'm SO loving these items.
The Mini Retro can comes in 5 colors and stands only 27 inches tall. I picked the stainless steel style and marvel at the fact that it's fingerprint proof. With little ones in the home, this comes in very handy. This little guy would be perfect in an office space or craft area. I, however, put it in my bathroom to allow myself and visiting guests the ease of stepping to open the can so tissues and such can easily be dropped in. That makes life so much easier.
I like to reuse grocery bags as liners. They fit inside the can perfectly. When They're full, I can take the entire liner out of the can and walk it to the kitchen to empty it into our larger can. Easy peasy and mess free.
Here are some other details taken from the Simplehuman website.
available in five bold colors: red, pink, white, green, and blue
strong steel pedal: will last for years
removable inner bucket: for easy trash disposal
retro design: domed lid and flared handles are stylish and functional
convenient side handles: just grab the side handles to move the can
sturdy, non-skid base: non-skid base has rubber pads that are gentle on floors and keep the can steady
BUY IT: You can buy your own Mini Retro Can from Simplehuman for $19.99.
The other item sent to review, the Sensor Pump in brushed nickel, has been such a blessing and a huge help. This is more than just a soap pump, it's my kitchen sink's new best friend {it would be totally wrong to say it was MY best friend, right?}.
We placed this right at our sink to try it out. I figured that I'm in my kitchen enough that I would use it the most there. What I found is with cooking, fixing foods, and even needing a quick scrub after wiping a nose, the Sensor Pump is exactly what I've needed for such a long time.
I mean, how many times do I handle raw meat, or get eggs on my hand, or get a little one's slobber on me, etc. in a day? With the Sensor pump, I just have to wave my dirty hand beneath it and it dispenses the soap automatically into my hand. Phew! No more contaminating everything while trying to get my hands clean!
Filling the Sensor Pump is a breeze. I just had to lift the lid to the chamber on the back of the pump and fill it with soap. Then, after I add 4 AA batteries, I'm ready to set the volume to be dispensed. Now, this is the really simple part. If, when I dispense soap, I feel it's too much or too little, I can press the plus or minus sign buttons on the top of the pump to adjust this. In no time, it's ready to use and and I don't need to touch it at all to get soap for washing my hands.
Here's a peek at how amazingly simple this makes hand washing.
The hubster and I both agree that this has made life so much easier and we enjoy having this in our home.

These two items make life easier which will make my company feel more at home. The less work they have to do, the better. I'm now a big fan of Simplehuman and will perusing their website for more items that could be useful.
