It's cold and flu season out there in the big, bad, germy world. You don't have to tell me about it, though. We've been through the wringer this year between my son constantly getting sick from his preschool classmates and my daughter constantly getting sick from her brother's carried illnesses. It seems unending and frustrating at the same time.
In my past experience with the various viruses that come through my home, it seemed that I was powerless to do anything but make my children comfortable as their little bodies fought off whatever ailed them. I would sit up with them when they constantly woke at night {the hubster would too}. I'd be on stand-bye with every over-the-counter, "treat the symptom" item made for their age group. Basically, I'd be forced to slip into survival mode and just pray for the house to be clear of germs quickly while trying not to get sick myself.
Moms and Doctors alike have recommended I use a cool-mist humidifier in my children's room...and I do. However, I was recently offered the opportunity to test out the Germguardian H1500 and have noticed a marked difference in how colds "play out" in my home. I can't believe that the humidifier I used previously was practically ineffective against this in comparison to Germguardian.
So what's the difference in Germguardian's H1500 vs. the filtered humidifier we purchased at the local store? Wow. Well, there's plenty different. First, let me share with you the features that make the H1500 more convenient for a busy mom like myself.
1. Buying the H1500 means I spend money once. There are no filters, pads, or wicks for me to purchase or replace in this humidifier. Since I'm a mom on a budget, this means a great deal to me. Now I can put that money toward something else.
2. The water tank has been treated to fight off mold and mildew which means I don't have to wonder what's blowing in the air my sick children are breathing in. I'm positive that they're breathing in pure, clean, cool mist and nothing that's dirty or stale. Thank you, silver clean technology.
3. The humidifier can run for up to 55 hours before the 1-gallon tank needs to be refilled. This is all dependent on the humidity setting. {There's a neat dial that makes it easy to increase or decrease humidity for bigger and smaller spaces.}
4. I can choose whether I want warm or cool mist by turning a knob. {The other cool-mist humidifier I was using was strictly "cool".}
5. The humidifier has a built in night-light.
6. Cleaning the humidifier is simple. I just use the small brush that is stored beneath the water tank to brush off the small, nickel plate that is also beneath the tank and I'm done. Easy peasy.
As destiny would have it, both Alex and Eliana got colds while we were getting to know the Germguardian humidifier. At first, we had the filtered humidifier running in their room as they slept. Eliana was absolutely restless and required a steaming in the bathroom to get through a night's rest. She was so stuffed up, she couldn't sleep. I decided to try using the Germguardian in the room the next night and noticed Eliana didn't make a peep as she peacefully slept through the night. She didn't cough once when prior to this she had been coughing constantly due to the drainage down the back of her throat. She also never woke crying due to the fact that she couldn't breathe. I was amazed and still am.
The Germguardian H1500 Ultrasonic 55-Hour Humidifier has been making the colds so much easier to deal with for everyone here. I'm so happy with it, I could give it a big 'ol kiss. As a mom, I'm pleased with the much needed sleep this humidifier grants my children as they recover from their colds. I feel so good about the air they're breathing when the humidifier is running and believe that this is the best for them. My kids deserve the best. {I'm sure you feel the same way about yours.}
BUY IT! The H1500 Ultrasonic 55-Hour Humidifier can be purchased for around $149.99 on the Germguardian website or from its list of retailers.
