Vacation In A Castle? Yes, Please.

For Pete's sake, SOMEONE take me to Ireland.

I just received this information on a wonderful stay in an "estate". It really looks like the trip of a lifetime.

Don't you agree?

Ashford Castle

New York - March 7, 2012: Strolling about the grounds of Ashford Castle, Ireland's most historic castle hotel, one easily becomes enamored with the estate's rich history and charm. With Ashford Castle's new Pedal and Paddle package, available May 11-13, 2012, guests can cover even more ground in a shorter period of time, hiking and kayaking not only through the grounds' 300 acres of woodlands, lake, river and 800 years of history, but also to nearby off-property sites of interest.

The new Pedal and Paddle package includes two nights' accommodations with breakfast each morning, one meal in the George V dining room for two and the following full-day program on May 12th:

Half-day guided bike tour: 10am - 1pm
10am: Depart Ashford Castle on bikes, exploring the Guinness Tower, Chalet and the Obelisk, Pigeon Hole, Cong Abbey and the Monks Fishing House
11:15am: Coffee Break in the Village of Cong
11:30am: Explore the Village of Cong, Market Cross, Salmon Hatchery, Kelly's Cave, Stone Circles and return to Ashford Castle
Included: Bikes, guide, and map

Half-day guided boat tour: 2pm - 5pm
1:30pm: Meet at the Castle and walk to the lake shore; change into gear and listen to safety briefing and paddle lesson
2pm: Tour commences: paddle by Illaunree Island Archipelago, Lisloughrey Harbour & Estate Wood shoreline (exact route and launching area subject to weather conditions)
4:30pm: Return to launching spot; change out of gear and return back to the Castle
Included: Guide, kayaks, paddles, spray decks, life vests, splash-proof tops and bottoms or wetsuits

Based on two people sharing, the package is priced at €750 (approximately US$1,042).
