American Girl Holiday Gift Ideas {review}

Last year I had the pleasure of bringing you a fun gift idea from American Girl and it is my absolute pleasure to share a few more ideas with you this year.

New to the American Girl line this year is Julie's Car Wash Set!! It features a baby blue Beetle and it easily fits TWO dolls inside. Now, I wasn't able to review one but I do have a stock image to show you. You're going to love it.

What I can show you is a little closer look at Julie and Ivy. These two dolls are hiding out and waiting to surprise Eliana in just a few weeks {so please don't tell her}. She's been asking for Julie and I just know she's going to "Squee".

The story of Julie and Ivy is that they are best friends in the 70's. Julie's story moves her away from her best friend and into a new neighborhood with new challenges to face. I'm really looking forward to sharing these stories with my daughter and explaining things like platform shoes and bell bottoms. :) 

Ivy's hair is silky smooth and she has adorable earrings. I've heard that the shorter hair on dolls is easier for little girls to maintain and I'm sure that's true judging by what I see here. Her top has a soft, polyester feel to it with a hip 70's print. 

 Julie has long, blonde hair with a braid in the front. Beneath that cute tunic top is a turtleneck with pretty, jewel tone colors. I cannot get enough of her bell bottom jeans and her platform sandals! Julie's stories share adventures of her life as she gets used to a new neighborhood and school. The stories also touch on historical moments like the bicentennial.

These dolls are sold separately or in a bundle of both dolls and accessories. Prices vary depending on how you choose to buy them.

If you're looking for something fun to put in a stocking or give over Christmas break, you can consider the American Girl magazine. You can grab both the November/December issue and the Special Holiday Issue in stores where magazines are sold.

Inside these magazines are adorable, DIY gift ideas, recipes, stories, and more! The Special Holiday Issue also includes a color-in calendar and a small book called Scribble, Squiggle, Sketch. This magazine is a great gift for any young girl and will keep her busy over Christmas break.
