Quick And Easy Ombre Hair from HairDo {review}

I love to switch up my look from time to time. Whether it's a different color, straightened, curly {with natural curl}, or even a different length, I'm all about trying new things.

A brand that enables this side of me in a fun and easy way is Hairdo by Hair U Wear. This brand is the brain child of Ken Paves, a stylist to the stars, and I find it incredibly fun.

I've done reviews in the past with Hairdo and this time around I was able to try something new!

Ombre hair is a pretty big trend in the hair world. I have to admit, I was a little curious about how something like that would look on me. When I heard that Hairdo added this clip-in extension to their line, I just had to try it out.

I can be a little tricky when it comes to my reviews and I certainly had a bit of fun with this one.

But let's talk about the product for a moment. I was sent 2 colors, Butterscotch and Caramel, to try.

The extensions come as one piece, clip-in extensions. They're packaged in hair nets and come with clips to hold up the hair you need out of the way to clip it in. Speaking of "clipping it in", here's a great video tutorial to show you how this all works.

It really is as simple as the video shows it to be. The only comment I want to make on the video is that the clip-in extensions come with a body wave style to them. No worries if this look isn't for you, though. The pieces can be straightened {like in the video} or curled with a low heat iron. Personally, I liked the look of the wave and left it as it came.

Here's my before:

I'm trying to grow my hair out right now and this is as far as I've gotten. My hair is naturally curly but I took a flat iron to it so my hair piece would blend better.

Here's where my test run got tricky. I decided to wear this hairpiece {in Caramel} to my father-in-law's birthday party. I styled my hair while the hubster was at the hall setting up the sound system and such {he didn't even know I was going to wear it} and I didn't say a word to anyone about it all night. {tee hee}

Then I posted this picture on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. The comments I received made me giggle.

 Amy, your hair is getting so long! I like it!
Your hair looks beautiful!

Your hair has grown! Two beauties for sure!

Your hair is so pretty, Amy

Finally, at the party, my hubster came up to me and said "By the way, I like your hair like that". I started laughing and whispered "It's not mine!"

But you see, it didn't matter whether or not my hair was long with ombre coloring or not. I wore it like it was mine, I felt confident about how I looked and people responded in kind.

I love the look of the longer hair with Ombre colors but I love the freedom to use my new extensions when I feel like it and something different when I don't.

{By the way, I have tried the Butterscotch color as well. I think it will be perfect for me to use in the summer when the sun lightens my hair just a teensy bit.}
