I recently had the pleasure of watching volumes 3 and 4 of the Baby Signing Time collection with Alex. In our home, we've been trying to teach him sign language as a method of communicating with us until he masters his speaking skills. I have books and a different DVD that I've been using with him. I didn't realize how effective teaching him sign language could be until we received Baby Signing Time.
These volumes really appeal to him. He watches so closely as the different characters teach the signs. After watching it only once, he was doing new signs and picks up something new every time he watches. Of course, I watch these with him and do the signs as they're being taught so he's not "veggin' out".
These DVD's are fantastic and appeal to babies from infant to toddler years. There is large collection of DVD's that are more for preschool aged children and up. Those can be found here.
If you've been looking for a great way to teach your child American Sign Language, these DVD's are the perfect way to do that. You can buy them separately or in a collection. There are also books, music cds, and flash cards to reinforce what your child is learning.
This could be a great Holiday gift idea. :)

I have also been teaching my daughter to sign. It is amazing how quickly she picks words up. The "Baby Signing Time" video's are fun, I always seem to get the somgs stuck in my head after we watch them.
ReplyDeleteWe loved the signing times DVD's at our house. My daughter still signs occasionally when she thinks I don't get something right! I wouldn't change the view it gave me into her thoughts for anything. I always reccomend them to my new moms at baby yoga.
ReplyDeleteBTW - i tagged you in a meme over yonder. Cheers!
I've been wanting to do this with Alina - do you know when a good time to start
ReplyDeleteMy neice and nephew have been watching these videos since they were months old and Sarah loves to watch with them when we go to visit.
ReplyDeleteI took a course on this and it was neat to see how babies can learn this!
