Turkey Hangover

Every Thanksgiving I eat WAY too much food. Now, this isn't a problem while it's happening. I never regret a single bite of that YUMMY dinner...and dessert...and appetizers....OK, and more food after that. Today, however, I totally regret my choices.

I don't feel awful. My body isn't changed. I just have this CRAZY case of Turkey hangover...or maybe it was the wine.

Ah, well.

This "black Friday" has been terrific. We enjoyed a parade with our family this morning. A few things excited Alex and made him smile. He really liked the BIG trucks and the hellicopter that flew over head. (It flew very low and very fast). The hubster and I collected a good amount of candy there too. Yay!

After the parade and a visit with my parents, we came home and I got to work on getting our Christmas decorations up. There's just something so fun about putting up the tree. Every year, I watch A Christmas Story while I put up the tree and decorate it. I look at all of the ornaments and remember the story behind each one.

This year, we were given something VERY special to add to our decorations. My dad gave us the train he used to put under the family Christmas tree every year way back when. Alex is SO excited for our "choo choo" and can't wait to see it running. To have this in my home is a pretty big deal and it almost makes me want to cry. There are so many good memories hiding in that train set. Now, Alex will have his own memories to add to it. Thanks, Dad!
(Once I have the train put together, I'll take a picture so I can show you what it looks like.)          :)

I hope your Thanksgiving was terrific! Tell me how you spent your "Black Friday".    :)

  3. I'm sure it pleases your dad just as much as it does you to have the train. That is a priceless gift. Years of memories and a future pleasure.
Hope your turkey hangover is going away. It is the one day of the year that eating a lot is what's expected. :D

  5. Didn't get to the stores for Black Friday; didn't want to fight the crowds. Hubby and I spent the day driving in the country, checking on my dad's weekend place in Normangee. It was a great day spent together. Did buy one Christmas gift at a local store in town when we stopped for sodas on the way home.

  6. It was great to see Alex excited to see the train running. I also enjoyed his dancing on the skate box that stores the train.

Glad to know that your receiving the train brought you as much joy as Dad given it to you!)

I made my first Thanksgiving dinner and it was delish. I'm glad. Maybe I'll venture out a bit more next year. We didn't go shopping or anything but just enjoyed family time at home. So glad husband was home...he could have been at work.

Hope you are enjoying the Sunday!

  12. How fun to go to a Thanksgiving parade! I have never done that!

We love trains, too! My husband and I just started a Hobby Store and we specialize in trains (modeling). My hubby is the big train buff. Very fun for your son!

    What a great family photo!
