How I Spent My Sunday

Yesterday marked the official day my brother would be home for good after his tour in Iraq. My family and I went to a high school about an hour from home to see his ceremony and bring him home. Following the ceremony, my brother requested McDonalds so we headed off to the nearest Golden Arches. Yum. :)

I have an extremely special picture to share with you. Are you ready? Grab your Kleenex...

Now, before I start crying again (as I do every time I look at this picture), I'll share with you my bit of funny. My "little" brother is actually WAY taller than I am. Yesterday, I was wearing about 4 inch heels. Thank goodness I was too. Otherwise, my face would have been in his armpit and I wouldn't have this beautiful moment to share with you. :)

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.
