Traveling with RCA (review)

Welcome to modern technology and all the gadgets that come along with us when we travel! But when you have a family of people and their gadgets all hitting the road together, how can you keep those gadgets charged up and protected while they charge?

A representative of RCA sent us the Travel Charger with Surge Protection to make sure that our family doesn't experience gadget burn out on the road.

The Travel Charger is equipped with 3 plugs, 2 USB connectors, and a cradle for all our charging needs. Suddenly, one wall plug becomes a charging dock and surge protector in one for up to 5 items.

My family's 5 items include:

  1. A digital point and shoot camera battery charger
  2. A DSLR camera battery charger
  3. An Ipod
  4. The hubster's cell phone
  5. My cell phone
It's extremely easy to fill those charging spaces, isn't it? Trust me, my list doesn't stop at the magic number 5, but those are the things that will be charging most often while on vacation.

Here's a look at the USB plugs. When you plug one in, the red light turns on below to let you know it's working.

And here's a look at the cradle on top. You'll see that with this cradle, I can fit my iPod to rest and charge or I could fit my cell phone as well. The surface of the cradle is smooth but it has a no-slip finish so that my devices to fall all over the place when I lay them in there.

And if what I needed to set in there was a little wider than an iPod or a cell phone, the holder comes right out and has a wider base beneath it.

Perhaps you're not traveling anytime soon. I can tell you this is something great to have at home to use as a charging dock.

We're so pleased to now own this and the hubster is excited to be able to take it with him as he travels for work. This is something that will fit wonderfully into our lifestyle even outside of our road trip.

*You can purchase your own Travel Charger with Surge protection from RCA for around $25

**The opinions expressed are mine and mine alone.Others may have a different experience and may not agree with my opinion. Thanks to the PR representative who, on behalf of RCA, sent the product to review. I was able to keep the items at no cost to me in exchange for my honest review.**
