I love a good, classic story. As a little girl, one of my favorite movies to watch was A Little Princess. It taught me a valuable lesson of making the best of every situation.
Now I have a very similar story that I can share with my little ones in VeggieTale's newest movie, The Penniless Princess. We all sat down to watch it together and enjoyed it from beginning to end.
Here's the movie's synopsis:
Sweet Sara Crewe has everything a little girl could want - a loving family, lots of friends, and a closet full of frilly dresses! But when life takes a turn and Sara goes from riches to rags, will she realize that her true worth lies not in what she has, but what she has in her heart? Find out in this inspiring new story from VeggieTales that reminds kids who they are in God's eyes.Of course, Eliana was all about the princess. I knew she would be but I loved what the movie taught her about being a princess. She learned that if God is her father, she is a princess, regardless of what anyone else may see or tell her about herself.
Alex, too, really enjoyed the movie. That's another thing I appreciate about VeggieTales movies; no matter if it seems that a movie is more geared toward boys or girls, both will enjoy it and take something away from it.
The Penniless Princess keeps every bit of its classic roots in tact while adding in Biblical principles to make it a story to influence the future of the little ones who watch it.
If you happen to be a fan of Silly Songs, I'm sure you're going to love the new one featured in The Penniless Princess. It's called Best Friends Forever {BFF} and features all the fun codes we find ourselves speaking in over text messages. Totally cute!
