 I'm a BIG fan of the Holiday Season. I love shopping for the perfect gift for people on my list. {I'm just one of those who love shopping and giving.} This year, I've been given the opportunity to give some delicious, Peet's Coffee Holiday Blend coffee to two people. {YAY!}

Immediately, I thought of my son's preschool teacher and her assistant. I'm almost positive that two people who give such great care and energy to a class of 4 year old children could really use a good cup of coffee. Don't you think?  Alex was very excited about this idea too and he just couldn't wait to head out to the store and choose items to add to their gift baskets.

I don't want you to miss out on our shopping fun! Please take a look at our Google+ album.

 Alex was so excited to fine baskets at the store that match his teacher's favorite colors. And since this was a gift from Alex to them, I didn't even blink when he said he wanted a purple basket for one of them. {She once told him that purple is her favorite color.}  :) He also had fun choosing mugs for each of them, a candy treat, an ornament, basket wrapping, ribbon, and basket filler. We were more than ready to put these wonderful gifts together.

Once we put everything in the baskets, we were ready to wrap them up and make them festive. I purposely left the ornaments Alex found out of the baskets to use as a "gift tag" of sorts. Alex was thoughtful enough to pick an ornament for each teacher that had their first initial on it. They've been teaching him so much about letters that he was able to find which ornament went to which teacher all on his own. :)

Wouldn't you just love to receive a basket like this? I think they look so sweet and yummy!

 There...now they're all wrapped up and ready to go. For now, the gift baskets are waiting under the Christmas tree but Alex will be taking them to his class' Christmas party and giving them to his teachers at that time. He's very proud of himself and he admitted that it's going to be difficult for him to keep these baskets a secret since he's so excited about them.

And now the fun part for me! I get to give ONE OF YOU some Peet's Coffee Holiday cheer!!

I recently headed over to my local, Verizon Wireless store to check it out for myself. After all, I'm really familiar with the Android platform phones and wanted to see what this phone had to offer over what I already own.

You can see the details of my store visit by looking through my Google+ album

While I have an Android phone, my contract is not with Verizon Wireless. However, after my store visit and learning all about the phone, I really wish I could get rid of my current contract and get this phone from Verizon. The phone is that nice and my service in store was that good. The salesman didn't leave my side from the moment I entered the store until the time I left and he answered all of my questions. This, of course, meant I couldn't take any pictures of the phone while I was there, but I'll trade great customer service over that anytime.

So what, exactly, do I like about the Motorola BIONIC?
These images were obtained from the Motorola website but they show 2 of the most important {to me} features a good phone can have. First of all, memory is a biggie. I need room for the photos I take while doing sponsored shops as well as the applications I use to either spread the word about the item{s} or store I'm reviewing. I'd also like to keep a few of my favorite MP3's on the phone to use as ring tones and all of this needs to be able to be accessed quickly and without making my phone shut down. {My current phone does this all the time to me since it just can't keep up.}

Also, messaging capabilities are a biggie. I text, email, update facebook, send and receive images, and more all day long. If my phone is unable to provide these basic services without trouble, it's time for me to move on. {People, I've reached that point with my current phone. Insert frustrated grumble here.}

I love that I can access Netflix from the Motorola BIONIC phone with no problem. With the phone I have now, I wouldn't even dream of attempting something that uses this much memory.It would never work. Not only do videos play on the BIONIC, they are crystal clear with no issues from those pesky pixels .

 And here is the number one feature that draws me in and makes me want to buy this phone. The phone is secure and business ready. I can access the Google programs I use daily without worry of hunting down the application thumbnail and risk of someone accessing my accounts as I do. As a blogger, this is a big deal. The phone can keep up with me, sure, but it's made to keep me safe and eliminate the stresses of using mobile apps for business purposes. This is the one thing that would make me purchase this phone.

I didn't have a ton of time to get to know the phone but I didn't see anything on it that I didn't like. I guess my "dislike" would fall under the category of "I'm not a Verizon customer" and "I've fallen for a phone I can't have"...unless I want to pay out of my other contract but I don't have that kind of extra money right now.

Obviously, if I were going to buy the phone, I would go right back to the gentleman who helped me at the Verizon Wireless store. He went above and beyond to help me out and I would want him to get the credit for my purchase.

I can't let you go without letting you know that you about the deal I've found on the Motorola BIONIC phone. You can "Buy Now & Get FREE 2 Day Shipping"!! That means you don't have to wait to experience this wonderful device for yourself OR you can buy it and have it put aside for that special someone on your shopping list. Just click the link to get the deal. Easy, peezy.

As I'm sure you can guess with all the "Coffee" references on my blog, I'm a coffee lover. Although, I wouldn't consider myself to be a coffee snob at all. I just love coffee and I think it loves me right back.

However, I'm sure you're well aware of the ruts one can get stuck in when purchasing something like coffee. For us, we always purchase the same brand at the grocery store because it's inexpensive but it's not cheap enough to taste gross. Have you been there?

Collective Bias {thank goodness} asked me to shop for something new and different and share with you what I think about it. The brand of coffee I'm currently drinking as a part of this opportunity is Peet's Coffee. Are you familiar at all with this brand?

Well, I had never heard of Peet's Coffee and there's literally only one store in the area where I can buy it. Usually, we visit this store for produce. But I'm pretty sure we're going to have to visit for produce and coffee after this taste test.

I was sent to buy some Medium Roast Coffee as this is the newest addition to the Peet's Coffee line-up. As you'll see in my thisMoment story, I couldn't find any in my one, local store and decided to try a different blend. Believe me, the coffee I bought is good and I can only imagine that their new flavors are just as rich and full tasting in nature.

Now, being that I'm pregnant, I only have one cup of coffee a day {my doctor says I'm OK to do that}, but when I'm not pregnant, I enjoy a cup in the morning AND a cup in the afternoon. I just like that mid-day pick-me-up. I normally use ground coffee brewed in my Keurig and I always use flavored cream in my coffee. How do you take yours?

For this review though, I decided to buy whole bean coffee and grind it. I thought it would give me the truest flavor and I thought I could better form my opinion that way. {By the way, the smell of freshly ground coffee is enough to make me smile in the morning. I love that smell!}

Bottom line, my coffee {Garuda Blend} is quite tasty and I'm intending on savoring every last drop of it. That is, until I make the trip out to the store to purchase more.

Why don't you look over my thisMoment story and find out more about my shopping experience? There's a coupon in there!

While being a Smarties Ambassador for the month of August, I've had the distinct privilege of sampling some different varieties of candy with my family. It truly has been fun for all of us since we love candy around here. :)

The day our box of candy arrived, I tweeted:

 and my 4 year old is singing "the big rock candy mountain". :)

It was such an adorable reaction, if you ask me. And yes, I did feel like we were sent a piece of the "Big Rock Candy Mountain". Mmmmmmm. What would you say to receiving a shipment like this?

 Of course, we received the classic Smarties candies. These are something I have such a weakness for. It's something I crave and I don't have to worry so much about the calories when I indulge this particular craving. If you ever need a little "sweet fix", this is your answer. {Psst. There are only 25 calories in a roll with zero fat!}

The Theatre Box Smarties haven't been cracked into yet. I'm thinking we'll have to share these the next time we have a family movie night. Nothing goes better with a movie than a little something sweet, if you ask me.

Hello, Mega Smarties!! These rolls are humongous and just as tasty as they look. While I'm a candy lover, I can't polish off a roll of these in one sitting.  No worries, though. I keep a roll on the kitchen counter and visit for a tablet or two throughout my day. They taste just as good as the original, they're just MUCH bigger.

Smarties In A Pouch are the perfect answer to a request from my kiddos for some candy. In fact, Eliana {who is 22 months old} gets one of these pouches if her 4 year old brother gets a roll. I'll even give her just one of the three tablets in the pouch after she uses her potty seat and she is in 7th heaven with it. {She never wants to pop it in her mouth and chew it. Instead, she'd rather hold it in her hand and take tiny nibbles.}

Smarties Candy Money tastes exactly like the original candy tablets. The big difference here is that these tablets are larger and have money values stamped onto the face of them. These offer a fun way to encourage number recognition with your little one while satisfying a sweet tooth. Alex and I will often talk about how much money he has and which coins are worth the most, etc.

Seeing Smarties Double Lollies mixed in with our review candy brought back a ton of memories for me from my childhood. I remember buying, eating, and loving these lolly pops. Now, I get to share them with my family and Alex may be one of their biggest fans.

Are you familiar with Tropical Smarties? I wasn't at all familiar with them until they arrived here. After trying a roll, I'm happy to report that I'm still a big fan of Smarties. The tropical flavors are different from the original flavors but they are really, really delicious. If you're at all a fan of tropical flavored candy, this is the way to go.

X-Treme Sour Smarties are the final flavor I received for review. I didn't know how I would feel about these as I'm not a huge fan of sour candies. The sour flavor is definitely there but the candy is still "Oh my Gosh" good. I love these and I'm considering sharing them with the rest of my family. ;)

Finally, if you remember my recent interview post, I have some fun information to add. The VP of Sales and Marketing answered some of the questions aside from my interview and I have some of his answers for you to read and enjoy.

1.  Who decided to make them in rolls instead of loose?
That decision was made by our founder, Edward Dee.  By putting them into twist-wrapped rolls, it was easier to package in different bags, boxes and jars, without leaving any powdery residue from the ingredients.
2.  Do you have any new flavors/packs coming out?
Yes, we do!  Stay tuned, and keep checking our website and social media networks.  Unfortunately, we cannot release that information at this time.  Announcements will be made online as soon as new offerings are released.
3. What are his future plans for the company?  What does the next “plateau” look like?
While we share a distribution on a national level in most candy outlets, I am seeking new avenues for candy distribution.  Some examples would be hardware stores, shoe stores, stadiums, restaurants, etc.  With the help of the third generation, I hope to find some candy brands with nostalgic value that become available to purchase.  This would be a great Smarties link to offer our customers.  With the knowledge that the younger generation has for computers and social media, I am sure they will come up with many new ways to take the core business and expand into areas that we haven't even begun to imagine.
4. What is your favorite recipe to use Smarties in?
Crunched-up Smarties over ice cream is delicious.
5. Did you ever consider or try making a sugar free version of Smarties?  Have you considered using stevia?
It was many years ago that we manufactured a sugar-free variation of Smarties.  Unfortunately, the ingredients, as would be with Stevia, are far too expensive to produce our candy and remain in the non-chocolate arena in stores.  As a matter of fact, the cost to produce such dextrose substitutes is higher than the big, three chocolate manufacturers charge.  Our customers--retailers and wholesaler--will not pay that kind of money for Smarties.
6.  Does Smarties donate to charity?
Yes.  We recently had to limit charitable donations ever since one very nice person thanked me (online), personally, for helping with their charitable function.  Because of the posting, I receive an abundance of requests, daily.  I like to help as much as I can but, like many companies, donations are budgeted.  I have limited our donations to our local area and try to affiliate with schools by helping teachers with reward programs, positive reinforcement, mathematics, and fundraisers.

I absolutely love finding ways to get my kiddos excited about making healthy habits and high on my priority list is oral hygiene.

Thankfully, we were invited by Collective Bias and Colgate to do an art project that showed what we thought #InvisibleNasties looked like. This experience opened the door for great conversation with my son and ways to make him excited to care for his teeth.

Check out our Whrrl story!

After we had everything all together to create our Invisible Nasties project, I sat Alex down for a quick talk about what a "sugar bug" (as we call them) looked like and how we could get rid of them.

Here's that interview! (Have you ever tried to interview a 3 year old? LOL)

Colgate wants you to remember to change your toothbrush every 3 months and to make sure you care for it correctly. For more information, visit the Colgate Invisible Nasties page.

Alex loves using his new toothbrush and I feel confident that he's getting his teeth cleaner with this one than he was with a standard toothbrush. I'm so glad that he has this as a reference point in his life to serve as a great foundation for good oral hygiene. It's so important and definitely not something to take lightly.

If you didn't see the full Whrrl story, or you just want to see it again, here's some photos of what Alex thinks Invisible Nasties look like.

P.S. When we created this together, I would ask him questions about each part before we made it. So, while I had to do the assembly (he is only 3), he chose what went where, helped with the hair and fuzzy tummy, as well as put in the arms and legs of his sugar bug. It was a lot of fun and he's so very proud of how it turned out. (This thing is sitting in our living room right now.)

**Funds were provided for our Colgate shopping trip and craft supplies. Thanks to Collective Bias and Colgate for the fun and educating opportunity. Watch the #InvisibleNasties page for more projects and stories.

 As a stay at home mom, I know how easy it is to get stuck in a rut with my routine from day to day. I try my hardest to make sure I look presentable, but I often skip over using certain makeup products that I lack confidence in using and don't have the time to learn. I thought that the Smoky Eye Look kit from CoverGirl was one of those things that I just didn't have time to experiment with.

Boy, was I wrong.

Through Collective Bias, an opportunity came my way to try out this look. I couldn't get over how much fun the review kit looked like and decided to take this as my time to learn another way.

I was perfectly giddy when my Makeup Master Studio kit arrived from CoverGirl. Take a look at this video. I'll bet you would be excited for this to come to your home!

With my tools in hand, I decided to sit down with my information and learn a bit more.

The Smoky Eye Look Kit Comes In Three Styles
There is a Natural Look, a Glamorous Look, and a Bold Look kit available to purchase. Within each kit, I found a SmokyShadowBlast stick, an Exact Liquid Line eyeliner, and a LashBlast Mascara in complimenting shades. These are the only 3 things you need to create the Smoky Eye Look. Right on the inside of the box, I found the 3 steps to follow. They were clearly and easily laid out and I had no trouble at all following them.

Before I got started with my very first try, I read Molly Stern's tips found at Smokyeyelook.com . Since she's an "in demand" CoverGirl makeup artist, I thought I should see what she has to say.  After the quick review, I felt like I was ready to give it a shot.

The Smoky Eye Look Kit is Easy To Use
You know me. I'm not going to try something like this out without showing you my experience. So, to give you an idea of how easy this look is to attain, I made a video for you.

The Smoky Eye Look Makes All The Difference

I want to give you a side by side look at these different kits. You can see the dramatic difference it makes and you've already seen how easy it is to get the end result.

Smoky Eye Look ~ Natural kit
This gives a simple *punch* to my look for everyday wear. It's earthy and beautiful.

Smoky Eye Look ~ Glamorous Kit
 Look at how the blue color of my eyes pops with these silver and gray hues. I find this look to be so nice and I literally feel like one million dollars wearing these colors.  I think this dresses up my look a bit and is very complimentary.

Smoky Eye Look ~ Bold Kit
 What a fun look for summer! This brightens up my whole face and really plays on the color of my eyes. I never thought blue eyeshadow would look good on me but I stand corrected...and I love it.

Bold Is Beautiful!

Never be afraid to try a new look. You may just love it. This is a tip from your official CoverGirl Makeup Master.
