Always a fan of classic Disney films, I was thrilled to find out Lady and the Tramp was being released on DVD & Blu-Ray. This is one of those movies I grew up with and was very fond of. In fact, I remember going to Disney World when I was 12 years old and going on a mad hunt to find a stuffed Lady and Tramp in the shops there. {Yes, I found them.}

Now that I'm a mom to 3 kiddos, though, films like Lady and the Tramp are easy and natural additions to our DVD collection. I not only want them to enjoy it the way I did years ago, but I also want to watch it with them. And let me tell you, there's nothing like seeing a classic film remastered. The picture is crystal clear.

We received the Diamond Edition of Lady and the Tramp just the other day and my little ones were so excited. I put it in for them to watch and they were asking to watch it again as soon as it was over. Things like that put a smile on my face as I know they enjoy the magic of Disney films as much as I do.

It wasn't too long ago that Alex and I were invited to a screening of Gnomeo & Juliet at our local theater. That day, we both fell for the characters, story, and music of the film. And like any 2 people who fell in love with a film, we couldn't wait for it to come out on DVD.

We just received the Blu-Ray and DVD combo to review and decided to have a movie night so we could enjoy it together. For the sake of review, though, I thought it would be fun to share it with others who hadn't seen the movie yet and get their opinion of it.

Enter big family gathering.

I turned this on in a house filled with cousins. Young children and adults alike made their way into the room to watch the movie together. Here's what I loved about that. There were many times that you could hear little ones laughing and others when you could hear the adults laughing. A family movie like Gnomeo and Juliet, has jokes aimed at both audiences.

We all enjoyed watching the movie together and Alex loves to spout off his favorite quotes from the movie.

{More than once a day, we hear him saying "A cheat! A cheat! That's what you are".}

If you happen to be in the market for a cute, family-friendly film, pick this up and make and evening of it. If your family is anything like mine, they will love it.

There's something about the spirit of Rapunzel that I just adore. She's creative, smart, and stronger than she realizes yet adorable and sweet. She's a princess that I love to root for as my children enjoy this movie again and again.

The DVD and Blu-Ray Combo Pack of Tangled came to us recently for a review. I can't decide who likes it more; me or the kids? Eliana is captivated by Rapunzel while Alex loves laughing at Pascal and Maximus. Truly, this movie has a great combination of characters and a beautiful storyline. 

My favorite part of the movie is the lantern scene. It's so magical and beautiful. And if I can confess,  it makes me tear up a little to see Rapunzel's reaction to seeing the lanterns for the first time...every time I watch it.

The DVD includes the feature film and a bonus of the original storybook openings. On the Blu-Ray disc, though, is the feature film in Blu-Ray Hi-Def and bonus features of deleted scenes, "Untangled: The Making Of A Fairy Tale", original storybook openings, and more!

This is a great story for the whole family to enjoy time after time. I can definitely recommend this for an Easter basket filler. Although, it may be hard to wait until then to watch it. {just sayin'} It hits store shelves on Tuesday, March 29th and I just know that it's going to sell like crazy.

As a long time fan of Disney animation and the Disney Princess movies, I was MORE than excited when I first heard of Princess Tiana and her New Orleans roots coming to screen. 

I happily accepted an opportunity to review this movie in my home as I could add it to my princess movie collection and one day watch it with my daughter. Now, I wasn't sure just what to expect but to put it simply, I thoroughly enjoyed the film.

I was quickly swept into the movie and completely taken by Tiana as I learned about her childhood and the big dreams she had for her life. It almost seems as if her dreams were taken from her when she kissed a frog (who was made a frog by a spell put on him) and turned into a frog herself. Her adventure began as she and the frog Prince saught to have the spell reversed. Will Tiana learn to accept and believe in herself? 

As the story unfolds, there are many fun characters that make their way into the story. And the music? The music is rooted in the soul of New Orleans. I honestly couldn't help but boogie along. 

Like every classic story, there is a "bad guy" and he may be a bit scary for some. I chose to not allow my son to see the whole movie just yet since I know he's pretty sensitive to anything scary and gets night terrors. The bits he has seen, he has really enjoyed.

Old Dogs was released for sale last Tuesday, March 9th on DVD and BLU-RAY.  

When I heard about the release of this film, I was so excited for a chance to watch it and review it. I hadn't seen it in the theaters (I don't get out to movies much) but I really wanted to. You see? I'm a big fan of John Travolta and Robin Williams always cracks me up. Yes, even if it turned out to be a waste of time, I wanted to see this movie.

The hubster and I set a night to watch it together after the kiddos were in bed since this movie is rated PG and we view these sort of movies before allowing our toddler to watch.  Almost right off the bat, we were laughing...and laughing....and laughing. Old Dogs is hysterical and heart warming. You really must see it and enjoy a good laugh.

I knew that this was a movie that my parents would appreciate so I lent it to them for viewing too. They said they really enjoyed it and then we compared notes on the parts that made us laugh while laughing about it all over again. 

**As much as we enjoyed it, we decided that this is not a movie for our (almost) three year old. There is a scene at the beginning of the film where the two buddies are celebrating a divorce and go get wasted, surrounded by girls. While there isn't anything "adult" in nature, we don't want our son getting the impression that this sort of thing is funny before he's old enough to have a full understanding. That's just our opinion.**

UP! is a wonderful, sweet story about a widower who wants to keep everything the way it was when his wife was still alive. But when he gets upset at someone knocking something out of place and going to be sent to a retirement home, Carl decides to take the adventure he promised his wife they would take together.

Along the way, there is a lot of excitement and adventure. There’s also someone who threatens to end Carl’s journey prematurely. Carl must learn to count on friends who come along side of him and soften his heart if he’s ever going to get to his destination.

I’ve watched this movie over and over again with my son since it’s arrived here in our home for review. He enjoys the humor of the story line and the characters while I enjoy the sweet story that is told and the lesson Carl learns. This is a great movie for any family to enjoy together.

On October 27th, Disney released Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure in a Blu-ray combo pack for sale.

We were able to review a copy of the movie here in my home and surprisingly enough, Alex (my 2 year old son) even sat with me to watch it. I found the movie to be an adorable tale teaching the importance of friendship.  This is something that I enjoyed from beginning to end and wouldn’t mind if my son (and daughter when she’s old enough) watch over and over again.

Here’s the synopsis taken from the press release:
