** Thanks to the PR firm or brand for the item{s} to review. This review is based strictly on Andi's experience and opinion. There was no compensation for the review itself or to influence her choice of words. Others may not agree or may have a different experience.**

Hi there. It’s me. The girl who doesn’t like coffee. I hope that we can still be friends after my confession the other day that my true love of steaming beverages lies with tea and apple cider. {phew} Now can we all agree that buying sweet things for adorable new babes is one of the greatest joys ever?! If you are looking for some sweet ideas for a new bundle allow me to point you in the right direction!

When I was given the opportunity to review some adorable baby items from SwaddleDesigns, I jumped at the chance! After Bean decided to join us on Valentine’s Day, I knew she would be surrounded by pink and hearts for the rest of her life. I was looking forward to some sweet things to add to her girly lifestyle and SwaddleDesigns did not disappoint. I was thrilled with the girlie swag I received: a fitted crib sheet, a lovie, and a swaddling blanket.

As parents we want our precious little ones to be comfortable. Since they spend so much time sleeping, a comfy crib sheet is a must. The Ultra Soft Cotton - Fitted Flannel Crib Sheet is so soft and cozy. It totally delivers! I know I will be grabbing this one first when making her bed. And, since she will be sharing a room with her brothers for a while, the tiny pink polka dots are just the right touch to make her bed her own.

Speaking of making things her own, I can certainly see her reaching for The Violet Puff Circles Baby Lovie. Our oldest squisher, Bookworm, has been obsessed with fabric from the day she was born. Bean seems to love the feel of fabric in her hands and against her rosey cheeks as much as her biggest sis. The fuzzy soft center combined with the satin edges will keep any little one comforted day or night.

Another item that is sure to comfort is good swaddling blanket. Swaddling comforts and reminds babies of the mother’s womb. I think there is something irresistible about a tiny baby swaddled all warm and cozy. The Marquisette Swaddling Blanket is amazing. A luxurious 46 x 46 size makes this the queen bee of swaddling blankets in my book. I wish I had this blanket in my stash with my other squishers. This durable cotton blanket is a multitasker and as versatile as SwaddleDesigns promotes on their site - use as a sunshield, play mat for tummy time, or privacy throw for breastfeeding.

I am so impressed with the quality of the items I received from SwaddleDesigns. You cannot go wrong with any of the fun patterns they have for a practical, yet memorable, gift for a new squisher in your life.

I'm on baby number three and I've {finally} had it up to *here* with diaper expenses. It's pretty crazy the amount of money we spend on disposable diapers in this house and I want to make cuts in spending any way I can. {I'm sure that money would be better used somewhere else.}

Well, I don't know anything about using cloth diapers so I was extremely overwhelmed when I began to research them on Google. Suddenly I had to decide if I wanted sized diapers or one size fits all, snaps or velcro, all in one, all in two, pre-folds, PUL....flannel, fleece, terry, bamboo, or hemp...   I mean, really. Who knew it could be so complicated?

Luckily, all the options became a beautiful thing and I learned that an AIO {all in one} OS {one size} diaper would probably give us the easiest transition to reusable diapers from disposables. Since I had that BIG part of the selection figured out, I then had to investigate the styles of the AIO OS diapers. Every brand approaches this differently. Aye-yi-yi, right?

Being a review blogger, I decided to approach this arena in true, reviewer form. I don't know anything about any brand or style and I'm a hands-on learner. I've turned to the brands and asked them for help in learning about what they offer so I can share all the details with you...and figure out what I prefer at the very same time.

I have a few different brands I'm trying out right now and I'll be posting the reviews soon! In the meantime, you can share with me your cloth diaper expertise or inexperienced questions in the comments below. :)

If I can be transparent with you, I'd like to admit how "traditional" my family is. We don't seek out many "green" or "natural" products in general when shopping. However, we have learned some of our children's needs don't agree with our regular purchases and are always looking for the product to fill that need for us.

For example, two of my three kiddos {so far} have very sensitive skin and a light complexion. This has lead us to buying things like detergent made without dyes or perfumes, natural diaper creams, and soaps for sensitive skin.

Fortunately, one of the brands that has always worked well for us is Johnson's Baby. And since this is a brand I remember from my own childhood, I love using it with my children.

New to store shelves, Johson's Natural products bring the same quality to our bath time while providing more natural ingredients. We received the Johnson's Natural Head-to-Toe Foaming Body Wash, Baby Lotion, and Baby Shampoo to try out.

I began using these products for my newborn daughter's bath and have yet to reach for anything else. I love feeling good about the items I'm using for her and knowing that they're safer for her sensitive skin. I also appreciate the fact that these items are so affordable.

So what makes up these new, natural products? You can find a full list for each item on the Johnson's Natural website, but here's a look at what's included in each of the three items:

All of our JOHNSON'S® NATURAL® products are at least 98% natural. The remaining 2% of our ingredients are dedicated to the ongoing safety and preservation of our gentle formula.

JOHNSON'S® NATURAL® products have

  • No Parabens
  • No Dyes
  • No Animal Byproducts
  • No Silicones
  • No Lanolin
  • No Paraffin
  • No Petrolatum
  • No Phthalates
  • No Essential Oils

{Psst...there are also videos on the website to give you some fun ideas of how to enjoy the outdoors with the little one{s} in your life.}

Products like these are an easy way to get started in living a more natural lifestyle and has me thinking up ways to do even more things for my kids. How do you live naturally? What are some of your favorite things to do outdoors?

*I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Johnson’s Natural and received a product sample to facilitate my review, and a promotional item to thank me for participating.*

Well, I kept on saying it would happen so I'm not sure why I'm surprised, but my beautiful family has grown once again...and on the date I had predicted for months before her arrival.

On Christmas, we started the day together. The kids opened their gifts and started playing with them while the hubster and I took it all in and enjoyed the morning together. After that we headed to my parents' house for brunch. After opening gifts there, my daughter brought me a doll she just received and asked me to open it.

Just then...

right at that very moment...

I had a contraction that bothered me so much I had to toss the doll to my husband and tell him to open it.

My dad instantly became nervous and thought I was in labor. I laughed and said "Don't even go there. I have to get through today."

That one contraction was the beginning of the rest. All day long, I continued to have contractions and watched them get closer and closer together as I kept track of the time.

In between my parents' house and my in-laws' house, I let the hubster know that I was having contractions but he need not worry. At that point, they were still about 7 minutes apart and I told him "We have time. I'm not in pain."

When we finished dinner, I had a contraction that held my attention...right in the middle of a chat with my sister-in-law. I quickly composed myself and tried to act like nothing had happened. After that, contractions moved to the "every 5 minutes" slot and the adrenaline kicked in.

We opened presents and the hubster knew of what was going on with me. He quietly let his parents in on what was happening and made arrangements for the kids to stay there so he and I could head to the hospital.

And HERE is where the fun begins. *insert eye roll*

I arrived at the hospital in labor at 36 weeks and 4 days. This made it "pre-term labor" and the doctors on staff didn't want to really do much more than pump me with fluids and watch what happened. So when the contractions became a bit uncomfortable, I was given an IV med that made me pass out. {Thank goodness for that too...it was LATE.}

Around 7:30 am, The resident OB came in and said my OB wanted to break my water and get things moving. They decided they weren't going to start Pitocin since my contractions were  pretty regular. I opted to take the epidural before that happened so I could be somewhat cozy...things were about to take off.

In the 10 o'clock hour, we were really getting close to delivery time and I was beginning to get uncomfortable...the epidural was SO not working. {I must have pushed that darn "administer more meds" button 3 or 4 times before Mikayla made her arrival.} Since I was on an epidural, the nurse came in to *ahem* empty my bladder. At that time, I was dilated to 7cm and not fully effaced yet. She left the room and I had 2 big contractions in a row right after that. I knew, no matter what, this baby was going to be born very soon.

I felt a little panicked about what was going on and asked my parents to go wait in the waiting room so I could spare them the show that I knew was on its way. No sooner did I do that, and a HUGE contraction came that rendered me speechless while pointing to the "call nurse" button for the hubster. He hit the button and held the speaker up for me to speak in to. Rather than speaking, I could only yell as a big contraction came and the hubster said "the baby's coming".  I can only imagine what that sounded like at the nurse's station. LOL

A student OB came right in and said "OK. We're just going to check you". Mind you, I had just gotten through begging the hubster not to touch me when he tried to move my knee...that was locked to my other knee. I was afraid that the baby would be born right there and then. Naturally, when that doctor checked me, I could only yell through the pain as I closed my eyes and tried to relax myself.

The hubster reassured me that everything was fine and the doctors were all there to help me. No sooner did the resident OB come in to help out and Mikayla was born. Yes, it was that fast. No pushing necessary. Mikayla just decided to make her way out. {Ouch, much? Mmmmhm LOL}

I was in complete shock, really. Everyone went around doing their jobs to care for the baby and me and I just sat there completely stunned. "What just happened?" was the question I kept asking. I also kept apologizing to the nurses for not being able to control when I pushed and for making them rush around. They only said that I did a great job and not to worry about anything.

My state of shock continued throughout that day and that's why it never even occurred to me to send friends text messages or post something to facebook.

All is well but we've been busy caring for our little preemie since bringing her home. Mikayla is a little jaundiced and she's been back and forth to the lab for blood work and to the pediatrician to track her weight gain. She was 6 pounds, 4 ounces when she was born and now she's holding steady at 5 pounds, 13 ounces a week later. The doctor said it will take her maybe up to 3 weeks to get back to her birth weight since she was premature.

Mikayla is a beautiful baby and we're so happy to have her with us.

Mikayla Mae ~ Born 12-26-11 at 10:58am 6 lbs. 4 oz., 19.5 inches long

Getting my feet back on the "blogging" ground may be a bit rocky but I'm looking forward to finding a new normal. As always, though, my family comes first and I've been making it my priority to get us all settled.

...and I'm nesting like crazy. Part of what I've been working on is gathering the items I have from when Eliana was a baby and assessing what more I'll need for this baby girl.

I'm grateful to have items to use as hand-me-downs but I also want this new baby to have some items that are meant just for her to suit her own personality.

While browsing the websites, I found the cutest baby clothes on the Tea Collection website. Just take a look at these one piece items for baby!

*Sigh* Aren't they darling?

The cuteness doesn't stop there, either. You'll see more adorable outfits on the website for boys and girls too.

OK. I'm going to keep shopping. I'll let you know if I find any other cute items for baby number three!

I'm in such a vulnerable, and scary place. The scary is the unknown. It's what I can't see.

I so wish I could wake up in the morning and see the end of the rainbow and what lies in store for me and my family. But like all good things in life, I must wait.

Before I ramble on too long, let me share a bit of our conversations here.

We currently own a 900 sq ft., 2 bedroom condo. With the 2 kids we already have, we were able to make it work by giving them the master bedroom to share and taking the smaller room for ourselves. Now that baby number 3 is on the way, I don't even know where I would put the baby's clothes...let alone bottles, blankets, a swing, and all the other items that come along with it. So, we've decided to rent our home out so we can rent a house somewhere closer to the hubster's job.

For the time being, we'll be packing up our things and moving in with family. This will give us a window of time in which we can fix up the condo to rent, save up some money, and find the house that will be perfect for us.

Meanwhile...I'M PREGNANT! My brain can't wrap itself around this new baby and all the changes coming up. I want to know where we'll be and where our furniture will go. I want us settled in the house before the baby arrives and the end of this road is so fogged up that I can't see if that will happen.

We know this is the best move for us but I'm scared to death. Really. I had an emotional breakdown last night. "Overwhelmed" was the word that perfectly described what I was feeling.

The hubster is wonderful and talked me through everything. He reassured me and encouraged me. He even gave me permission to freak out. {You gotta love that.} I just needed to have a moment, I guess. I needed to get out the raw emotions so I could get my mind focussed and remind myself that my faith is what I need to rely on right now.

With the many questions I have and the many things I don't know, I know God has it all figured out. I need to trust in that completely.

When I was crying to myself last night, I wanted to listen to something uplifting. I turned on my J.J. Heller CD and just sat with it for a while. When I was done crying out to God, asking Him to give me a sign that would say we're doing the right thing, this song started playing. It's second verse, especially, is what spoke to me.

J.J. Heller ~ Back Home

Don’t let your eyes get used to darkness
The light is coming soon
Don’t let your heart get used to sadness
Put your hope in what is true

No matter how the wind may blow
It cannot shake the sun
Lay your sorrows on the ground
It’s time to come back home

When the future seems uncertain
Like the coming of a storm
Your loving Father carries his children
When they can’t walk anymore

No matter how the wind may blow
It cannot shake the sun
Lay your sorrows on the ground
It’s time to come back home

Oh, back home…

I feel better about things today and I'm taking a big, deep breath. Being in God's hands is right where I need to be and everything will work out. I know this is true.

I joked with my hubster that my blog may become a "barf bag" of sorts and I hope you don't mind. I want to be real. I want those who are facing uncertain times to know that they're not alone and be encouraged. Life isn't always easy and it doesn't always "look pretty". That's just the way it is...nevertheless, there is hope and in that hope, there is peace.

I could start this post about one million different ways. There has been A LOT going on over here in the past week...and we're just getting started.

Can you see the connection between this picture

and this one?

Waiting...

It began last Friday with this

and suddenly, my world was turning upside down. This was not on our radar. This wasn't even on a list of possibilities for us right now.

Don't misunderstand. We're SO excited for this new and precious gift. We just feel incredibly motivated to change things in order to prepare...and make room for...this 3rd child.

It's all so overwhelming...chats about moving and where to, replacing the newborn items we've either sold or given away, realizing every part of our summer plans are now a little different due to the growing babe inside me, considering who will share a room with who, and so on. It may sound like a simple list but it's far from simple. Each mentioned item has a bullet list beneath it and each part is just as important as the next.

My mind is reeling and I try all day long to keep my shoulders from getting tense.

I'm excited and baffled by this news. I'm in love with the idea of being a mommy again...and the hubster being a daddy for the third time. And as hard as it is, I'm trusting God's plan for all of us. I constantly remind myself that none of our "news" surprises Him.

The hubster and I are on a plan to just focus on the step that's in front of us. If we try to solve everything in one conversation, we'll drive ourselves crazy. {Mostly because there are so many answers we don't yet have.}

It's just a little ironic...I had no idea about my pregnancy when I wrote this post about being a mom. Just like I had no idea that I was pregnant when Alex asked me two weeks ago, "Are you going to have another baby?".

Alex's question was followed up by this statement and it has me a little concerned... "If you're going to have another baby, you should just have 2 next time".

Do you think he's THAT insightful? *giggles*

And so begins our journey. One prayerful step at a time, we'll find a way to make the perfect home for our family's needs. Yes. This news certainly changes everything...January 18th feels really close all of a sudden.

I recently stumbled upon Bella Tunno while "window shopping" for headbands for Eliana. What I found, beyond headbands, was a website filled with stylish, practical accessories that any mom could use for her little ones and love. From burpies, to bibs, to diaper bags, Bella Tunno is a one stop shop for everyday, mommy needs.

When corresponding with Bella Tunno, I was offered to review a couple of items for our road trip. The 2 items selected for me could not have been better.

Let's talk about the Little Linker first. This handy item attaches on one end to a child's cup/bottle/toy and on the other end attaches to their stroller/car seat/high chair. It's available in 2 styles but I chose the "Sassy Lassie". I just loved the colors for Eliana.

The Little Linker has a strong, nylon webbing that is attached to thick, polka dot elastic at either end. On the cup pictured above, the elastic fit snugly around the cup but not so tight that I feared the snap would come undone.

The snaps are plastic but much stronger than I expected they would be. This picture is to illustrate how thick the elastic strap is.

I'll say one thing about the Little Linker. I bought from a different brand who had the same idea a few years ago when I needed it for Alex. And although I really liked the idea, it slipped all the time and only held a certain shaped cup. I figured what I had was better than nothing at all but this is exactly what I wish I had years ago.

**You can buy your Little Linker for $12.

And to help keep Alex busy and tidy while we're traveling, Bella Tunno sent a Designer Diner in their "Preppy Boy" style. Mind you, this is only one of the many different styles they offer for the Designer Diner but I thought this would be the best for us.

This is the perfect item to have on the road with us for my son. I know we're going to get a lot of use out of it whether we're eating in, eating out, or eating at a picnic table at a rest area.

The Designer Diner is made of fabric that I can easily wipe clean. When it's untied and opened up, it shows off its creative side with its chalkboard fabric and chalk pouch. This comes with chalk that is colorful and non-toxic too so I don't need to worry.

Something like this is going to help pass the time while Alex is waiting to eat or waiting for the rest of us to finish eating. And when he's not coloring on his chalkboard, the chalk pouch can be removed {it Velcros on} and the mat can be turned over to create a place mat.

Honestly. What kid wouldn't like something like this? This will keep Alex's hands busy and give him something that he's familiar with no matter where we are.

I love how it rolls up and ties too. It's great to throw in the diaper bag and go.

**You can buy a Designer Diner in your choice style for $22.

I'm so grateful to Bella Tunno for sending these lovely and helpful items for my little ones. I'll be back stopping by the website again to buy a headband when Eliana is a little bigger.

**The opinions expressed are mine and mine alone.Others may have a different experience and may not agree with my opinion. Thanks to Bella Tunno, who sent the products to review. I was able to keep the items at no cost to me in exchange for my honest review.**

Infantino just released this Fold and Go Bouncer and I want to tell you all about it.

Eliana and I were eager to check it out and learn what sets it apart from other bouncers on the market. (Alright, Alex was pretty excited too but I didn't let him stay in the seat very long since he weighs more than the limit of 25 pounds. LOL)

The first thing I noted was the soft, gender neutral fabric. It almost felt like Egyptian Cotton for babies. As I looked closer, I liked the adjustable headrest that simply uses Velcro to attach it to 2 different heights. Also, the removable and adjustable toy bar is nice. The toys themselves can be taken off as well which makes it nice for spot cleaning.

Eliana kicking and playing away

The Fold and Go Bouncer is Soothing

This bouncer has more than your standard "vibrate" mode. It also has songs for playtime, nature sounds for rest time, and even the sound of a heartbeat.

I have to be honest with you, the heartbeat actually brought a tear to my eyes. (I'm a softy, yes.) To me, that just shows that personal touch where a baby can hear something that sounds familiar and be calmed by it. It also reminded me that something so simple can be the most beautiful "lullaby" for my little girl to hear. I was impressed that Infantino thought to include this.

These are the 4 options on the Fold and Go Bouncer. The center button, as shown in my personal photo above, is for power.

The Fold and Go Bouncer is Fun

Eliana has thoroughly enjoyed playing in her seat. She especially enjoys the mirror that is on one side of the adorable elaphant toy. This seat helps her sit up enough to play comfortably. It's like a baby recliner, really.

Since it's important to give Eliana a lot of tummy time during her day, I like that she can take the toys with her to her Play Space if she doesn't want to leave them behind.

Yes, she's checking herself out in the mirror...again

She's peaceful as a dove.

This is a sight everyone can appreciate. Does it get any better than this? ;)

The Fold and Go Bouncer is Easy to Assemble and Fold

I'm rarely a fan of things I have to assemble. I always fear that I'll do it wrong, break something, or need an extra pair of hands. Thankfully, I had no problems assembling the Fold and Go Bouncer. There are a few pieces to attach that go on with no problem and a cover. It's easy as pie. Well, for me it was anyway.

This seat is also very easy to fold up. There's a safety lock in place so I don't need to worry about it while Eliana's in there, but it unlocks very easily and folds right up. I couldn't believe it. Every other bouncer I owned took up a ton of floor space and sat there just waiting to be used. This one stays out of my way until I need it and I love that. Click to watch the demo videos of the seat.

BUY IT: You can purchase your Fold and Go Bouncer from Step2.com for around $59.99

I am a participant in a Mom Central campaign for Infantino and have received various Infantino products to as part of my participation.

Infantino Fold & Go Bouncer (review)

I've been given the awesome opportunity to work with Infantino as a Test Drive Mom for their new products. As part of this team, I'll be bringing you reviews of new items throughout the rest of this year. I'm so excited about this I can't even begin to tell you. Having a new baby in the house is way different the second time around and I'm finding that simple play things that keep her busy are very helpful in breaking up my time between her and my toddler boy.

For this first phase of reviews, I was sent 3 things. I'm going to talk about 2 of them here.

First up, I'd like to share with you the Twist and Fold Activity Gym. This is wonderful in so many ways.

Now, moms/dads of babies may understand the great convenience of owning a nice activity gym. This is the perfect way to surround that baby with positive stimulation as he/she develops better vision and mobile skills. I, for one, have a great appreciation for something like this as I watch my own child growing and learning new things every day.

What matters most to me when it comes to activity gyms? Well, it has to be comfortable. I don't want my baby to be lying on a hard surface. It also needs to have different ways to play. By that I mean it should have toys that come with it that are colorful, have some sort of sound stimulation(rattle, etc.), and a mirror is must have too. Finally, anything that can fold up and be out of the way when not in use is ideal. (Does anyone else have a home that looks more like a daycare center and less like a home?)

As you can see, the Twist & Fold Activity Gym from Infantino meets each of my needs in play equipment for my daughter. To set it up, I only need to push down the circle in the top/center of the gym. This makes the arches lock down for secure play. Then when Eliana's done playing, I just twist the top of the circle to collapse the arches, fold the mat in, and secure the Velcro tabs. And "Voila!" The gym can be easily stored away in the closet or even behind the couch. (That's my favorite part by far!)

And to note one more great thing about the Twist and Fold Activity Gym, the arms are removable. They're hooked on the bottom of the mat and can easily be removed so it can grow with your baby and become a tummy time playmat!

Check out Eliana enjoying her gym! You'll notice, we were sent a slightly different style but it works the same way as the one I pictured above. Our style is the newest one and is called the "All Around Zoo". (I was unable to find this new style on the Infantino website but it should be available for sale this year.)

The mirror can be placed anywhere by using the Velcro tabs.

She's having so much fun. You can't fake a smile like that.

...so many ways to have a good time!

The second item I want to tell you about is the Jumbo Wheel Play Space. This is something I wasn't able to find on the Infantino website but it will be coming out this year. This Play Space meets Eliana right where she is in her development. It not only has a lot of room for rolling around, it also has many ways to play right on the mat itself.

This is something that is on my floor DAILY. Eliana loves the elephant ear that crinkles, his hat that squeaks, the mirror that she can remove from the mat to hold and play with, the flower that sings "You Are My Sunshine", the ribbon tabs that she runs her fingers along, the changes in texture from felt to silky smooth fabrics, and more.

The Play Space is huge and offers something different in every area. This is wonderful for encouraging the next level of mobility for Eliana: crawling. Another great feature to note is the center. In the center of the Play Space is an elephant. Underneath that elephant is a little extra padding. This helps to raise up a baby's chest for tummy time play. It really is smart to have something like this as it's convenient and safe in propping up baby.

Here are some photos of Eliana enjoying the Jumbo Wheel Play Space.

...feeling the different textures...

The Jumbo Wheel Play Space really is jumbo!
